Danny Etling vs Sean White

I was having a conversation with one of my Auburn buddies and he took offense to my comment that I thought Danny Etling and Sean White were very comparable. He felt that White was a much better QB and pointed to the fact that he was leading the SEC in completion %, QBR, and Yards per attempt.
So here are their stats for the year:
Danny Etling: 89-147 1129 yds 60.5% 7.68 Yds/A 7 Td 3 Int 136.7 QBR
Sean White: 98-143 1264 yds 68.5% 8.84 Yds/A 7 Td 2 Int 156.1 QBR
So for the non-Auburn and LSU fans of the SECR, what do y'all think - is Danny Etling better, worse, or about the same as Sean White?

Sean White is better
Marginally better.. However, Etling is better for what we want to do on offense so I dont really care

White is a better qb. You're friend shouldn't have been annoyed, it is pretty close.

White feasted on powerhouse defenses La-Monroe and Arkansas St (122nd and 89th, respectively). His numbers outside those two games are sad.
Eitling boosted his numbers against...
So, they're both the beneficiaries of the majority of their "good" numbers coming against horrid defenses. Outside of those games, they're not good at all. Thankfully for both teams, they rely on the run game. Neither QB is winning against a good defense with their arm.

Maybe. I'm sure it doesn't hurt that the three defenses you faced in those games were abysmal. Missouri - 109th Ole Miss - 107th Only Southern Miss is highly ranked on D, but that's smoke and mirrors - take out the 41 yards vs Savannah State (WHO?) and their ranking plummets. This team gave up 400+ yards to Kentucky and 532 yards and 55 points to UTSA - a team averaging 29 points and 391 yards per game. So, yes, LSU is improved... but they've demonstrated that against three completely horrible defenses. They've got Alabama, Florida and Texas A&M - all with above average defenses - to prove that these improvements are legit, and not just the benefit of playing horrid defenses.

White a little better, but both can get the job done for their teams. Different schematially but phiolosophically both are run first teams with a strong Defense.
I like Etling a lot, just wish he had a bit more arm strength. Somo of those out routs he reads well just doesn't have enough juice in the throw.

Looks like White is better in just about every way.

Sean white complete 70+% for over 200 yards against LSU and MSU.
He was bad against Clemson, but a lot of that can be attributed to qb rotation and the situations that put him in.

Etling not accurate enough in my opinion to beat Bama. He isn't bad but not great either. Bama going to get a few picks.

He is the much better QB. Doesn't make Sean White an elite SEC QB however, just a lot better than a mediocre Etling
Etling is solid for what LSU is doing under YawYaw so not a big deal though

I think White is more comfortable at QB at this point.

The LSU numbers are good, though he couldn't get it into the end zone. Still, props for not turning it over.
MSU is another terrible team. Mediocre defense at best. 459 ypg vs teams with a winning record.
My main point, though, is scoring. Of his 7 TDs, 5 came against the two I pointed out. He has 2 TDs in his other 5 games.

My main point is that he is not great, but a lot better than you give him credit for.
