Wow...I'm surprised he didn't have better stats.

Howard might be the best Tight End with blocking factored in.
Hasnt the knock on Howard been that he's not that good of a blocker or a lazy blocker?

Don't go to sleep on Ethan Wolf. Dude is a boss if they throw him the ball.
This is true. He's a nasty arse blocker too. Complete package at TE. I'm hoping our OL situation will allow for more pass pro without having to use Ethan to block every passing play. He really is a beast.

I don't honestly know.. I just know that Sprinkle isn't considered a great blocker.
I think he'll lead all tight ends in the SEC in receiving though...

Howard is easily the most physically gifted of the bunch, but that's always been the case. Unless the title game guilted Lane into using Howard more consistently, the safe money is probably on Engram.
It's entirely possible that Howard will now scare opposing defenses enough that it'll actually mean more plays for the WRs and RBs as the defenses are forced to cover Howard more carefully. With Treadwell gone, OM might lean more heavily on Engram, running a lot of wheel routes take advantage of Engram's physical strengths.

Love that celebration.

CJ Conrad has big time potential. I truly believe he'll end up being better than Jacob Tamme.

Yep. Sprinkle will be 1st or 2nd team all-SEC due to statistical production. He should be 50+ catches and 700 yds, 8 TD or so.

Sprinkle. Seriously, this guy is good.

True but a match up nightmare...
What LB is going to man him up downfield?? Put a safety on him and now you've just F'ed yourself for us to go over the top...

The same can be said for Howard and Sprinkle. Both of those guys are matchup nightmares due to their athleticism and size.

Interestingly, Engram was the least highly regarded of 3 TEs in his class. After some injuries, we were kind of losing our shite about not having a better option. One guy on another board ranked the 2013 class by how excited he was about them and had Engram ranked dead last. I don't recall anyone arguing with him.

wanna say OJ Howard but we have so many guys to throw to that I doubt he gets Mackey numbers.
What OJ Howard did in the National Title game really opened up Pandora's Box in regards to Alabama's offense. I realize most of it was busted/unattended coverage, but it showed that Alabama has yet another weapon out there that you can't just ignore or be nonchalant about in preparation.

quote:Yes. He's been more of a finesse player than a physical one, and with Alabama's running game, a good run blocker is very important.

Sprinkle, but not bc I think he's the best. I just think Bielema is the best coach at using his te's. I think Howard is the most talented

Wouldn't surprise me to see Jeb, Jackson Harris, and super frosh Isaac Nauta all get ample oppourtniites.
Woerner will be in the mix as well. With our QB and RB situations, I think Cheney uses his TEs extensively, as he has done in the past. Wish Schotty had done a little more of it.
