If your going to use the UNC case ok it's a great example. With UNC they issued the NOA and then new infractions came to light so they stopped the NOA process and now UNC is responding to the NOA. So based on this the NCAA has found nothing new.
Look at the Miami news paper that states the NCAA was told by Miller about the western union and Tunsil's attorney stated those text were delt with.
I'm sure the NCAA are double checking everything but going off how they handled past cases of if there was anything new the NOA process would be halted.

UNC was way more complicated that OM. UNC was making fake classes for athletes over a span of almost 20 yrs. OM basically revolves around recruitment issues of a handful of players. Apples and oranges. OM won't drag out nearly as long as UNC

Uh? How is it disrespectful to the NCAA to make a commitment to Ole Miss? If that is true why are 4 players committed right now?

That stuff is serious. I'm interested to see how our Saunders infractions match ULLs.

Technically yes, but a rogue coach fudging a couple ACT scores is completely different than systemic, university sanctioned fake-classes over an 18 yrs span

I don't think anyone is expecting us in the top 10. We have don't that twice under Freeze the other years were around 15.

If you were being audited by the IRS for tax evasion, would it be a good look to start buying a bunch of yachts and mansions while the investigation was ongoing?

If I was guilty of tax evasion, Nope. If I was innocent, Sure why not.

Take it for what it's worth, but I've heard that we're sitting on some private commits that will go public as the NCAA thing wraps up, and that they haven't gone public out of respect for the NCAA and the process
I certainly did

you are probably correct. dragging this out as long as possible will be the harshest penalty the NCAA will issue, since they have nothing to hammer us with to begin with. the NCAA knows what they are doing.

Exactly. While we're not exactly innocent, we're also not exactly guilty. So it makes sense to play it cool for a little while until everything calms down a bit before a bunch of commits start showing up. Again, out of respect for the process

So then why have they taken some commitments? Sounds like a bunch of BS to spin the story of why commitments aren't rolling is right now.
Real reason players don't want to commit to Ole Miss while they are under investigation. Not that Ole Miss isn't taking commitments.

Link? I understand your sentiment, as a fan, but you have no way to know that right now.

When did I say we weren't taking commitments?
The guys committed are some legacy guys and guy that have been around a while. And it's not like you have to have zero commits to play nice.
If some 5 star publicly committed to OM right now, people would blow a gasket and phones would start ringing off the hook at NCAA offices. Doesn't mean that OM can't/won't accept a private commitment and hold off announcing it publically until things cool down.
It's all about perception
OM investigation fanboy Steve Robertson has even said to expect some commitments to go public in the weeks following the OM response

In other words, they want to see if the letter sounds plausible. Also no payments will be issued until the response is sent.

More like we aren't exactly innocent, but we are not sure they can prove it.

You mean slowing the money wiring so no commitments

Woah, you may be on to something here... If they were not guilty of paying players, the recruits would have already committed, but if they are guilty, the players won't commit because it would look suspicious.... Hmmmm.....
