Thoughts on the auburn game?

First off, no I'm not making any predictions
But how does everyone feel as of right now? We definitely got some positive momentum in kentucky, and having gurley and sony back is going to be awesome. I know auburn just lost to a supposedly bad team, but they're still gonna give us a fight. I love the 7:15 kickoff, I honestly think this is going to be the best atmosphere leading up to gametime since 2008. How do yall see things playing out?

All of the rushing yards. Over/under 750 combined

I feel pretty good about this game. Auburn's defense isnt as good as first expected. Once we get Gurley back we should be good. I also believe that the Florida game was an anomaly... and we are much better than that. Nick Marshall is vulnerable to turnovers so ee have that going for us.

I feel good about it.
Team is fired up, that win against KY was near flawless and Auburn is going to be deflated after getting beat at home as the 23 point favorite. First home loss for Auburn in 14 games or something like that? There is going to be a hangover.
They will also have to honor Mason's arm in practice this week. His game against KY is important from that standpoint- another wrinkle Auburn has to spend time practicing on instead of focusing on stopping the run.
Gurley back. Chubb still killing it. Michel bobbin' and weavin' and the Joystick as the X factor on special teams. Mason with some confidence and identity. I'd be scared of us if I was sitting in the visitor's locker room as the sun is going down on Saturday night before the game.

IF and I mean IF UGA shows up to play it is going to be a Heavyweight punching fest. Whatever D can get a couple of crucial stops will be the victor.
Auburn mad.
UGA pumped.(Hopefully)

Probably more sad than mad. That loss had to have knocked a bunch of wind out of their sails. That will be a tough one for them to bounce back from (I hope).

Their last 3 games have been baaaaad.
They've just been outscoring people, but they've definitely been giving up lots of yards and points. This has the feeling like it'll be a shootout. Turnovers will be huge, considering both offenses will probably have their way. It's also big for us that their awesome receiver will be out. Marshall doesnt' really scare me as a passer. If we can just play our assignments against their run (which we did a woeful job of against florida) we've got a chance.

good point. Many teams will come back fired up after a loss (like we did against kentucky) but that loss basically ended their hope at the playoffs, an SEC title, and winning the west.

Like most others here, I think we will put up our usual 35-40 points.
The question is - which version of our D shows up? Good D or Bad D?
If good D with all of the crowd energy & the return of TG3 then Dawgs will prevail.
If bad D then it will be a 45-42 type game.

Auburn finally got brought back down to Earth. Losing on a fluke error at the last second at home for your first home loss in 14 games against the f'n Aggies when you are a 23 point favorite. Not easy to bounce back quickly from. Kudos to them if they do, but they have finally realized that the luck runs out if you keep pressing it.

I think it'll be a dog fight. Given both teams' strengths, this game will be won on the ground. I hope it doesn't end up being one of these "last team with the ball wins" games. Those games piss me off, and AU seems to have been in a lot of them recently.
I think AU leads most of the game, but we use our fresh legs/RB depth in the 4th to finish the drill. AU has the edge in passing, even without Duke Williams. We have the edge in rushing and defense. Special teams is probably a tossup with the exception of our return game. I don't expect turnovers to play much into this game.
I'm not of the mindset that Auburn comes in angry. I think it's the opposite. I think they come in moping because their national title hopes are gone. They do not come in fired up, but UGA comes in seeking revenge for last year's miracle. 7:15, sky is dark, 4th quarter crowd will be rowdy whether jerseys are red or black. Auburn won't be able to pull it together as the game closes.
UGA 31-28 in a battle of the trenches. I did it. Score prediction. I'll take the fall next week if necessary

I think UGA will be super aggressive defensively with run blitzes, junk zones, etc. to try and create turnovers. I really don't think UGA will be able to just line up and stop their running game. Gotta create mistakes, but will probably give up some big chunk plays as a result.
I think their D faces a similar problem, so it's a total toss-up imo

41-38 and the team that scored last will win...
900 yards of offense in this one.
Them losing Williams is a HUGE benefit for us. Hate to see it for him though, good kid.
Also, their LT got manhandled all night by MG. If the real Leornard Floyd shows up, it could be a LONG night for their backfield.

I hope the D is of the mindset that they are going to hit Nick Marshall in the mouth EARLY and OFTEN.

Shootout with the team getting the most TO's, special teams plays, fewest penalties and/or stops on defense, wins the game. TO's and big special teams plays like we got vs Kentucky are unpredictable/unreliable so our defense better be ready to man-up the entire game. Auburn's OL is not as good as it was last season so they are relying more on their passing game. If our Secondary can step up, we have a chance. After the Florida game, what worries me most is our front 7. After seeing how Florida and Kentucky were able to run on them, Auburn might not have to throw a single pass in the game.....

I feel pretty good. We bounced back really nicely last week and seem to have a lot of momentum going for us (Gurley back, first home game in a while, NIGHT GAME, etc.) so I think we have a good chance to win this one. I think Auburn will come out guns firing from the first snap so I just hope we can have a goo enough defensive performance to get some key stops or hold them to field goals in the redzone. I see this game being a 42-37 type of game going either way.
