If it is a five way frick fest then it comes down to cross division opponent record. The ranking thing is past since the bcs no longer exists. That's as much as I know.

I thought that anything more than a 2-way tie then it goes to the final rankings?
definitely not.

Regardless, in a 5 way tie, Auburn would be 2-2 (loss to State and Bama), LSU would be 2-2 (loss to State and Auburn), Alabama would be 2-2 (loss to Ole Miss and LSU), State would be 2-2 (Loss to Alabama and Ole Miss), and Ole Miss would be 2-2 (loss to LSU and Auburn) against each other. I don't see how LSU would lose out in that scenario by default.
just trust me. you can google the tiebreakers if you want

Suppose there was a 3-way tie with Bama, LSU and State, wouldn't LSU go due to stronger east sched?

No.
Barners beat ole miss in this scenario. Ole miss only has to beat state

Yes I actually think that would be correct.

Three-Team Tie (or more)
If three teams (or more) are tied for a division title, the following procedure will be used in the following order: (Note: If one of the procedures results in one team being eliminated and two remaining, the two-team tiebreaker procedure as stated in No. 1 above will be used):
A. Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams
B. Record of the tied teams within the division
C. Head-to-head competition against the team within the division with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non-divisional) and proceeding through the division (multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last and a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place)
D. Overall Conference record against non-divisional teams
E. Combined record against all common non-divisional teams
F. Record against the common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non-divisional) and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division; and
G. Changed: Combined SEC record of the team’s cross-divisional opponents
so:
A. All teams would have 2-2 records amongst the other tied teams
B. All tied teams would have equal division records
C. all teams would have the same conference record at 6-2
D. all teams would be perfect against the eastern divison
E. ditto
F. ditto
G. this is where things would get interesting. Right now as it stands
Alabama: 0-4 Tennessee and 2-3 Florida
Miss St: 2-3 Kentucky and 0-5 Vanderbilt
Ole Miss: 0-5 Vanderbilt and 0-4 Tennessee
LSU: 2-3 Kentucky and 2-3 Florida
Auburn: 2-4 South Carolina and 4-1 Georgia
So yes, you're right, Auburn, right now, would still win in a 5-way tie; however, a lot could change from now and then

I would like this happening but cannot see MSU losing one game during the regular season

There's always hope. Just win, and make sure the aggies don't spoil more than thanksgiving dinner.

Ultimate thread bump was LSUmatt who posted a crazy as frick scenario in late 2007 with everything that would have to happen for LSU to make it into the BCSNCG.
And it happened. Every damn bit and much crazier than the 4 team tie in this thread.
Dude was like brad Edwards before brad Edwards breaking down the bcs computer stuff.
