I vote for proud SMU alum, Craig James.

One thing is clear: the mustangs are in desperate need of some heppin'. The right choice is quite easy to make.

They need to hire Lane Kiffin.

I could see Kiffin. Though I think Lane likely thinks he can do better, it would be a good re-entry to head coaching and he could move elsewhere after 3 years if successful.
I could also see Lashlee. It would be a really solid 1st head coaching gig (see Sumlin at Houston) and could lead to bigger things if he's successful.

The families of those 5 hookers will never allow that to happen.

Interesting. Always thought about him holding out for a bigger gig.

It really would be a perfect starting HC job. Little to no expectations, a D1 program in the middle of an endless talent base, you're living in Dallas (you could do much worse in the is country). I wouldn't be surprised to see a Morris, Bobo, Kiffin, Lashlee, etc. or one of the nameless rabble of Sabanites at Bama jump on it

More than Spav, I'm concerned about losing David Beatty. He's our WR Coach / Recruiting Coordinator. The guy's a rock star recruiter, probably the best on our staff, and the Dallas area is his home turf. He's had one season each as OC for Rice and then Kansas, and before that he was a coach in Dallas Highschools for like 20 years.
I'm hoping SMU screws up and doesn't offer him the job.

Greg McElroy.
He gets to get into coaching, and the SEC Network immediately takes a step up.
Let's make this happen.

Is that the same David Beatty that coached at MacArthur High School? Damn I feel old, he coached against my school when I still played in high school

True. I'm living here now and it's a pretty cool place to live. SMU is just chock full of douche bags though. Holy shite.
