Yeah... I think small is ~25,000 or less... I'm from MS though... Someone from Florida or TX is gonna think small is anything less than 70,000... "Small town" can definitely have very different meanings.

In the XNA airport it says that Siloam Springs is one of the best small towns America has to offer or some line like that. I every time I see it.
I really like the Holiday Island area.
Most the "small" towns around NWA have a bad reputation for cops. Johnson and West Fork come to mind.
I had no problem with Hot Springs. Went down for the basketball state championship 6 years ago as a senior. Cops did warn us where we were standing debating on where to go to dinner was where someone was shot and killed the night before.

Eaten there about 1000 times, know them well. Our place is up the mountain behind the IGA .... keep going through Gillette Woods and up onto Melrose Mountain. I bought the place in '69. It was the very first piece of property I ever owned.
Ok, you must live up there beside Lake Lanier then. It is nice up there, really quiet and peaceful..

East Memphis is to the west of G'Town and it's nice. Cordova is to the North and it's not bad. Collierville is to the East and nice. Southwind is to the South and not awful.
Memphis may be a dump, but Germantown is surrounded by the nicer parts of it.

exactly. germantown being compared to the ghettos of memphis that are a 30 min drive away, is ignorant to use when speaking of the quality of germantown. memphis is one of the larger metro areas in the county, of course there will be areas that are bad. but germantown is nowhere near any of them. the closest reasonably bad area i can think of is the hickory hill area, which is about a 20 minute drive as well

Agreed. Abita Springs seems like a nice little town as well.

For Florida, for me, it's Cape San Blas. Though there's not much town to it, I like it.

Siloam is also the safest town in the state. I forget about Siloam Springs, because its the "5th city" of NWA and hasn't grown like the other towns really. It has a great little downtown area, and now that its wet, it has 28 Springs restaurants and a couple of other places.
Its crap out on the highway, but not all that bad otherwise. Great little downtown area with the creek, it has a college, and good people.
John Brown University:
Miles James (James at the Mill guy) has opened 28 Springs in their downtown. It really is a good little downtown area and very low crime.

Tennessee has so many of them.
1 Sewanee (on the mountain)
2 Jonesborough (step back in time)
3 Lynchburg (home of Jack Daniels)
4 LaGrange (home of several plantation homes}
5 Clifton (quaint little town on Tennessee river)

it really depends on what folks consider nice.
Some want a larger town with hotels, bar scene... others want small communities that are pristine and full of natural beauty.
I take the latter. Beautiful rivers, lakes, creeks with great fishing, hunting, exploring, hiking etc. Bed and breakfast inns, and folk music galore. Trout, small mouth bass, and good down home cooking.
Heber, Mt. View, Mountain Home, over Hot Springs imho.

Foley Alabama has one of the most beautiful downtowns for a small city I've seen.
Mountain Brook and Homewood would be next for me, only cause I grew up in this area. Go on Hollywood Blvd, see the gorgeous houses, and then hit a good strip of stores.
