That is pretty impressive. Why can Chavis excel at stopping spread teams like Auburn, but struggle against Saban offenses, when Saban is thought of as more a defensive coach?
Is Spurriers record better against Chavis than Sabans?

How many of those wins were while Chief was at UT?

Spread teams don't typically have refs in their pockets.

Chavis has 1 win against Saban as DC of Tennessee.

Yes Nick has a winning record against LSU. That would be a good thread topic as well.
And is 4-2 against Chavis at LSU. But the topic was about Saban vs Chavis.

In 09 it was about refs.
Then it was supposed to be about Bama never having a shot to make the BCSCG in Dec. 11. And then it was supposed to be about fat linebackers in Jan. 12. Now we have went full circle back to refs.
Schedules probably should be in there somewhere

Don't know about Saban, but Major Applewhite sure took Chavis to the woodshed in 2007. And that was after finding out just that morning that two starting OL (including an All-American) plus Glen Coffee were suspended.

The offense lost those games not The Chief's D.

The circle will forever be unbroken.
