Why is Auburn the only member of the "big 6" unable to sustain success?

Auburn is a member of the "big 6" as they have won their share of SEC titles and even a recent national title. However they are the only program in the big 6 seemingly unable to sustain an elite level of success over a stretch of consecutive seasons. Auburn's MO seems to be to come out of nowhere to reach a high level of success, only to immediately fall off.

Auburn has had back to back 10 win seasons once in their entire program's history (1988 & 1989).

The last time Auburn managed back to back top #10 AP finishes was 1993-1994.

So what gives?

It's a legit question. Feast or famine for AU. I mean, 20 years since consecutive top ten finishes? Twenty-five years since consecutive ten win seasons?

Why does Auburn have more conference titles than anyone else the last decade?

The numbers don't lie. I didn't realize AU was so inconsistent considering their SEC titles since 1980.

You obviously know little/nothing. Hell, you can't even spell your own name correctly.

4 short years ago we had exactly twice as many SEC titles as auburn. The thread is about "sustained success", as in, over a long period of time. Obviously auburn has been better the past several years. He's asking over the long haul.

The OP refers to back-to-back 10-win seasons.

Tennessee back to back 10 win seasons:
38-40; 50&51; 70-72; 95-98; 03&04;

Georgia back to back 10 win seasons:
80-82; 02-04; 07&08; 11&12

Congrats on South Carolina's streak of 3 in a row 11-13. The first stretch where you've won 10 in consecutive seasons in your 120 year history.
