OSU fans on Bama
quote:
Alabama is a fraud. They haven't proven to be the best team in the country in any of their mythical "NC" years. They have benefitted purely from the N$AA corruption and media propaganda, or in 2009, got lucky that Colt McCoy, a Heisman finalist, went out at the beginning of the game (that injury BTW would have been called targeting in today's game).
When Bama finally goes undefeated and doesn't play a cupcake OOC schedule to get there, then I'll acknowledge they were the best team. Until then, we will never know until a playoff.
quote:
First of all before anyone bashes me I am not saying Bama is not good. They are very, very good.
My problem is they are overrated. They are being treated like they are this unbeatable monster that everyone should be afraid of yet they lost last year, and the year before, and 3 times the year before that.
Let's examine last year. Bama played 3 really good teams in the regular season (sorry Michigan you don't count).
They scored a last second TD to beat LSU.
They lost to A&M on a last second INT.
They beat Georgia on a last second "goal line stand/fluke play"
Bama could have easily lost all 3 of those games. They could have easily won all 3 of those games. But the point is Alabama is not light years ahead of the rest of the good teams in CFB. They split with LSU two years ago. Yet the media treats Bama like they are the early 2000s Hurricanes or the 90s Nebraska teams.
Am I way off base here? Thoughts?

Has any of this not been discussed yet?

Pretty much.

Jealousy, fatigue, typical "hater" mentality.
They sound pretty much exactly like the Notre Dame fan base did last year.
Nothing to see here.

Ohio State should be banned from postseason play. They are a complete train wreck against teams that matter (no offense Arkansas).

Meh. tOSU can't even beat a mediocre SEC team most years. Until they can... well, no one cares about their opinions.

OSU saying BAMA hasn't played anyone and is overrated? LOL

Run the gauntlet in the SEC and make it out, then you are the best team in the country.

if they didn't rule themselves out last year they would have beaten ND

First quote is asinine, especially coming from an OSU fan. Second quote is not that inflammatory, and I agree with most of it, especially that the media hypes bama.

Auburn is not decent. They will have at least 3 losses prior to bowl season. That puts them in the middle of the pack. LSU could also have 3 losses, and TAMU 3 losses. Again, not as impressive as beating a 2 loss Mich St team and a 2 loss Wiscy (should really be 1loss) team
I find it incredible that a person can believe this.

Alabama finished last year as the NC and should have started this year ranked #1. They should remain #1 until beaten.
Just my opinion on how things should be.

bama shouldn't even be ranked in the top 25

Not a bad point but a horrible way to make it. Alabama's success is undeniable. It's also been really close to something else. Great teams, coaches and programs capitalize on opportunity and come up big in decisive moments.
People talk about these decisive moments -- the screen pass to Yeldon, the tackle at the 5 yard line -- as if Alabama lucked into them all falling their way. They didn't. They're fortunate that the chips fell where they did -- anyone who comes up big is -- but they worked hard to get there. It's asinine to act like we can just take away the times where things went well and assume they wouldn't and say that's how it should be.
Alabama's run has been a hair's breadth away from being something much less illustrious. That in no way diminishes the fact that they did what they had to do to make it where they have.

I see nothing wrong with any of these comments. Lots of truth
