This comment is completely pointless. Those men are paid an incredible sum of money, their litmus test isn't gonna joe fan in the stands. No, they're compared to other staffs and in that regard they get completely shite on.
Sorry, I literally despise the "well, let's see YOU do it" as much as "well, at least we don't cheat and oversign" bull shite some our fans spew out. One is nutless defense of our staff just cause of the position they hold and richt likes them and the other is a pathetic moral high ground our fans cling to when a real program spanks our arse and wins the biggin'. Either way the argument is fricking annoying. Everything else I agree, dawgs just got their asses whiped mentally and physically.
ETA: sorry, meant that really to be bitter toward the argument itself, not dezeier
Yep, it's the old arena come-back and it was as invalid when whoever first coined it as it is now. It doesn't take a coach who has viewed thousands of miles of film to see the obvious: our defense is lacking in experience, talent and depth. This is on CMR and his recruiting/personnel administration.
The best coaches are excellent personnel administrators. They know that every scholarship is potential game winner. You cover all the positions with quality depth and hope that attrition doesn't completely undermine your plans. In the case of our offense, the unthinkable happened with 5 devastating injuries to starters/major play-makers. In sharp contrast, the defense was never prepared to cover the positions of starters from last season who moved on the NFL or graduated.
It's been this way under Richt for a long time. Offense has always been the priority. Maybe one day we will actually have a DC who knows what he is doing and can recruit and coach at a comparable level as our offense.
To put it in perspective, if our defense had been as good as our offense over the years under CMR, we would have likely won at least a couple of National Championships.

he admitted the depth/experience issue on the radio the other night...talent though...you must be fricking high...we are extremely talented at every position on D just very young and have no depth/expereince as previously admitted...we are rebuilding...it happens..unless of course you are nick saban...but that is a different argument and wishing we had that type of coach is pointless...everybody in the country would love to have saban...as was the same with Bear Bryant...but those type of coaches come along liek every half century or so...bitching that CMr isn't that guy is stupid...
