Let's look at the teams Saban has lost to while he has been on his run:

Utah
Florida
South Carolina
LSU
Auburn
A&M

There is no reason for him to slow down the Spread and the HUNH.

Not using every angle to help you win titles is foolish. The greats like Bryant and Saban use every loophole and push every rule to help them win. If that rubs our rivals the wrong way, that's just dandy by me!

Doing it(controling player packages and watching the other teams plays)is one thing, complaining because someone has found a way to somewhat counteract it, is childish. Act like a man, cartman.

Why recruit a new style athlete when there is an easy way to slow down the offense and allow substitutions? College football has always stopped play for cramps.. To build an offense that works in an "ideal" situation is foolish. There will always be commercials and injuries to let defenses rest. If they make penalties for teams that fake injuries then they'll just coach the players to do a better job of faking cramps. There won't be a way to distinguish real from fake injuries.

It pains me to admit it, and I am sure that I will regret it, but I agree with every single word of every single post that Draconian Sanctions made in this thread.

He's right, football is not a continuous play game. I don't want to watch basketball on grass.

It isn't remotely a continuous game. Timeouts, turnovers, commercials, the play slows when setting the marker, the 1st down, etc. It's about not allowing defensive packages at opportune times. That's it.

Don't feed them bro, they will never leave.

The HUNH off. is staying put in CFB. IF Coaches don't like the fact that the 350# line man and 280# LB's are getting smoked, then find a way to balance it out. ie recruit smaller faster players. Stop feeding baby hippo's to your lineman and give 'em some spinach. Work on the cardio. FFS just stop whining about it. Oh and CLM stop whining about the damn sched. Peeps in hell want ice water, and that isn't going to happen.

I think time will show Mr Freeze to be a better girls basketball coach than a men's football coach.

Is it just me or are Alabama fans the least bitchy fans on the rant? Jesus Christ man Saban has an opinion different than yours. Why is this such a big deal?

It is easy to stop complaining when you are winning.

About the HUNH, the powers at the top don't like it because it lessens the control they have over the game, that is why they will try to legislate its destruction. If the legislation angle fail, they will adopt it themselves to squash the opposition.

Just like in real life, the ones at the top modify the rules to stay at the top.

Naw, I just wanted to make a reference to a Bama fan pulling a Brian Downing on Saban.

"Rubbing off"

Perhaps it was too vague. I'll try better next time without trying too hard.

I made this reference in another thread a while back, but he is like the guy on old school madden games that would wait to see which play you picked of the three options then call his play, every fricking time.

Mind explaining this?

When has said anything about the spread?

Plus UF, USC, LSU didn't run the HUNH.

Find the interview he did with Jake arute on xm radio. He hasn't said that he wants to ban HUNH , only he thinks that maybe the effects of the additional plays could lead to more injuries and that maybe it should be looked into. Said he didn't have the answers and that he ready to play those type of teams. if that's the direction of college football then they need to look at how it affects/or if affects player safety. He's not scared of that type of offense of course he would rather have time to sub as needed. Some people just want to hate on him for anything he says that they can. Understandable he's currently the King of CF and has Bama going for a 3 peat and is in middle of an incredible run.
