I just hope it's not this year
This really seems like a down year for the SEC defense wise. LSU, Georgia, USCe, Florida and aTm lost a lot on the defensive side of the ball. Bama, of course, is in good shape to maintain or be better.
Really the question is whether someone can break Bama's streak.

Alabama getting stripped of championships.

They will have an all-world defensive line but they lost a ton at linebacker and safety.

The Mason-Dixon Fault causes the Southeast to sink into the sea.

getting fricked over and not having a team in the game in the first place?
You homers think there's a chance in hell the SEC is ever "fvcked over and doesn't have a team"?
It'll never happen until the streak ends. Until then the SEC will be givent he benefit of the doubt each year, as they should.

0% chance SEC champ does not make the 4 team playoff in any given season, so we will have to be beaten.

Stanford, Oregon and tOSU. For what it's worth, Oregon will have some serious depth this year a la the 2010 team but with guys in the trenches that the predecessor was missing. Stanford has gotten their front 7 talent from the SEC and the 2011 oline haul was the best that any team has ever gotten.
BobAg and you bring up excellent points.
I don't see Ohio State or Oregon as serious threats to the SEC in the title game. Stanford may be getting closer, but I don't think they beat Alabama, Texas A&M, or Georgia at the end of last season. I think it might take an SEC-like team to defeat the SEC in the title game. Stanford is the closest thing to that in the country.

There is no one in the SEC that Oregon can't go toe to toe with, especially aTm and Georgia. Bama is the cream of the SEC right now.

I see it the other way. I think it's going to take a team like Oregon to beat the SEC (of course who knows what they are going to be like post-Kelly). I think when you don't have as good of athletes, you are better off being a little unorthodox, rather than trying to matchup styles and going toe to toe.
I do not think a team an "SEC-like" team, like Stanford, is going to get it done. That is kind of what Notre Dame was trying to do last year and it was embarassing. When you are outmatched athletically / physically, like most non-SEC teams will be, I think you are better off trying to keep the SEC team off balance, throw something different at them, like an Oregon style team could possibly do.
Moreover, it's becoming harder to say what an "SEC-like" team really is as there is a quite a bit of diversity of styles in the SEC now.

Damn near happened last year.

I am interested to see how Tennessee compares Oregon athletically to the other teams in the SEC. We have gotten a massive upgrade athletically in the trenches since the 2010 team.

I can see that. No disrespect to Oregon, but I don't think their offense would be able to hang against the SEC's best defenses. We saw what happened in 2011. We saw what happened against Stanford last year, though both teams left points on the field. I believe Florida had the SEC's best defense last season, and we know that LSU fares well against the spread and hurry up no huddle offenses. However, Oregon could probably keep it close since LSU and Florida were one-dimensional in most games last season.

Oregon keeps on getting more talented on the defensive side of the ball. Next year the team will take another step forward. I've never seen this kind of depth at Oregon, especially on the defensive line. Likewise, the secondary is truly an embarrassment of riches. After getting laughed off the board saying that Jordan was Mingo's equivalent, I don't expect a lot of agreement on my assertion. Time will tell. It's not just the offense.
