It's already been said but I'll reiterate:
They are our 5th biggest rival behind tech, UF, AU, and UT. We are their 2nd biggest rival and always have been. The only reason there's so much animosity now is because they've gotten us a few games in a row. But in general, SC is pretty low on our pecking order.
Btw, it's funny to think about where UGA falls on people's rival scale. To my knowledge:
GT: 1st
UF: 1st/2nd
AU: 2nd
SC: 2nd
UT: 2nd/3rd
Clemson: Depending on who you ask, we could be 2nd or 3rd
We sure are high up on a ton of people's rivals lists.

I hope this rivalry is renewed with these next two years. Has the potential to be an awesome rivalry.

Columbia is the unwiped anus of the entire south. I lived in Irmo for a couple years when I was younger and hauled arse the second I had the chance
They are an unusual fanbase no doubt. Ten years ago, you could have bombed the mall there on a Saturday and MAYBE killed 3 or 4 fans. Now you have all these mouthy camaro drivers that apparently have been diehard fans since birth .go figure
That said, if Spurrier took the Ole Miss job tomorrow, I would consider them a hated rival. The day after he leaves USCe, zero fricks about some gamecocks

I hate to take up for South Carolina.....but this is 100% false.
Probably one of the most rabid fanbases of all the historically shitty football schools.

Not the least bit. I consider Clemson a bigger rival

Yeah, didnt they sell out every game during their 0-12 season? You can knock them for a lot, but they're pretty true fans.

There is really only 1 guy besides myself that trolls South Carolina on the rant. We have our reasons. It doesn't represent the Dawg Nation as a whole.
Generally, they are a distant #5 on our rival list.
Imagine if Franklin beat UGA in 2013,2014,2015 at Vanderbilt, and at the same time beat TN those same years, and all of a sudden the whole state of Tennessee are die hard Vanderbilt fans, and want to start talking shite day in and day out about Georgia, talking about the Great Vandy-Georgia rivalry, think about how ridiculous that would sound.
That's where we are now with the South Carolina Gamecocks.

My grandfather is a huge Cock Fan. It was his birthday Oct. 6th....
South Carolina is a rivalry IMO. They've always been a tough matchup and the games have been amazing. One of the biggest plays in UGA history occurred (See Pollack vs. Jenkins).
One of my favorite plays in the series was when Holtz lined up for an onside kick, and Damion Gary returned it for a TD....

No. They are less of a rival than Florida, Auburn, GT, and Tennessee. Hell I'd have Bama and LSU as bigger rivals and we don't even face them every year.
In short no. South Carolina is a pest that has gotten uppity with a bit of recent success. Once Richt gets fired or Spurrier retires they will go back to mediocrity.

Whatever you say creeper. I only lived in SC half my life. Don't let that stop you from replying to the one poster in the whole thread that places zero value on your opinion

every team we play is a rival to me. I hope we kill everone. Of course i am constantly disappointed.

IMO it's UF, AU, SC, GT, UT in that order. I hate Steve Spurrier more than anybody on the planet and I'm sure he feels the same way.
Until SC is mediocre again, they need to be seen as arch rivals. I'm sick of losing to those bastards.

Yes, of course they are one of our main rivals. SC is the closest border state to Athens. You can drive the 165 miles from Athens to Columbia in an 1.5 hrs. easily. We recruit a lot of the same players from SC and Georgia. Spurrier always loved kicking Georgia's arse when he was at Florida and now he's loving the same at SC.

I used to never really consider the shamecocks and then I moved to this shithole town and met my wife and got stuck here. The shamecocks HATE UGA

I used to never really consider the shamecocks a rival and then I moved to this shithole town and met my wife and got stuck here. The shamecocks HATE UGA almost as much as they do Clemson. They look at us as the 2nd or tied for 1st rival. Richt needs to pound that into his player's heads before we lose 4 in row to those cocksuckers. Clemson owned them before the Old Ballsack came to town. Now his wrinkled arse is punking Richt and Dabo at the same time. Time to end!

Sorry Chef, but things like......... your analogies about bombing shopping malls.......... and your bragging about dipping people's toothbrushes in your piss makes it kind of ridiculous for you to call anyone ESLE a "creeper".
I know you lack the self-awareness to see this, but it's true.

I don't know if they were all sell-outs, but the attendance stayed pretty respectable. ANd don't forget that the winless season directly followed a season where they only won ONE game.......Those motherfrickers lost 21 in a row!....and their stadium never came close to looking like Auburn's started to by the end of the year THIS season.
frickers tore down their own goal-posts after beating New Mexico State to snap the winless streak...

Well........see, apparently.........you stumbled in deciphering usage of the word creeper here. It indicates a stalky frick such as yourself. One who checks someone else's post history every day to find any trace of some tedious arse point to argue. You're a poor man's gata basically
So why not just frick right off and find someone or something else that intrigues you on this big ol internet. Do you like apple's?......................
