Alabama's problem on D is that there are no real stand out players like Manti. Their strength is more like cogs in a machine than anything else, imo.

Alabamas D really isn't that good this season. Their 2-minute offense and clutch plays got them to where they are IMO. Very very clutch, but not overpowering.

I agree with all of this, except I don't see how ND is going to score 24. Thoughts?

Bama's D is more like a girl that can't make up her mind, imo. At times they look like they're the best in the league, at others it's like they're shitting the bed on 3rd and 4 situations.

Notre Dame fans are raving about their front 7 against your rushing attack. How confident are you guys?? I think Lacy has a HUGE game

I dont know if ND is ready for the tandem of Lacy's power run game and Yeldon's power, agility, and speed.

I honestly think Bama could run the whole game without throwing a pass

The only ND player that is probably worrying Nick Saban is Tyler Eifert.

Compared to last year? Yeah...I agree. But they are #1 in Total Defense, #1 in Rushing Defense, #2 in Scoring Defense, and #6 in Passing Defense.

Apparently some of you haven't read the other thread. Teo changes everything - he will stuff the run and cover the backs out of the backfield and pressure the quarterback, all at the same time.

Alabama's secondary and D-line are weak

They were gashed by the air attack and the ground game by LSU, A&M , and UGA

You played 3 teams with a pulse and gave up 17, 29, and 32. It's just not that good of a D IMO. You could play the bottom 12 teams in the country and have the #1 stat defense.. but it really doesn't mean much.

We all can't have a defense as good as 2011 Alabama or 2009 Alabama. This defense is young and in the process of rebuilding and yet they finished as the #1 defense in all of college football for the second straight season.

ND is the #1 defense this season, fwiw. 10.3 ppg and only gave up 10 TDs all season long (Alabama gave up 18).

Alabama has the 3rd best defense this season in the SEC though.

You mean 17, 21, and 29. The defense only gave up 3 touchdowns to Georgia, the other TD was a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown. And after the defense settled down in the second quarter, they held Texas A&M to 9 points for the rest of the game. It's just a shame that we couldn't score 30+ on them.
