So Harvey is in Jail and has not even started his evaluation... this will take a while...
------------
OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) — Officials say psychiatric testing like the evaluations planned for a University of Alabama fan charged with poisoning Auburn University's landmark oak trees can last from a few hours to years.
Harvey Updyke surrendered for psychiatric testing last week in Opelika, and he remained in the Lee County jail Tuesday morning.
The state mental health agency says tests most often are conducted in county jails, where the process can last from hours to a few days.
The department says evaluations can last from a month to years if a person is taken to a state mental facility for screening.
The agency declined comment on Updyke specificially, citing confidentiality rules.

Lee County court should've accepted his plea bargain instead of going on this witch-hunt and trying to throw the book at him. Now, nothing substantial is ever going to happen. It's going to move at a snail's pace and be a never-ending clusterfrick until he dies.

So his life will be a clusterfrick until he dies? I won't lose any sleep over that.

Doing a mental evaluation on him is by far one the most retarded things I've ever heard of.
He's a dumbass redneck Alabama fan that got pissed that Auburn beat Alabama, then poisoned the trees to piss us off and got caught.
Are they really going with the "too full of bammer" defense? Got to be fricking kidding me...

Well, it's that, and his bail in Lee County was revoked.

It's not just Alabama. He's like the Oklahoma fan that tried to castrate the Texas fan. He takes it way too seriously.

Has he already had his revocation hearing?

After he got arrested at the home improvement store, Judge Walker revoked his bail. Louisiana State Troopers came and testified against him, along with transported him here.
Same day that the Desmonte Leonard hearing was.

What plea? None has been given or offered from either side as I recall.

shite, looks like they waived the hearing. I guess I see the thought process..waive his revocation hearing and get him in a psych eval with the hopes that they find him nuts.

I cannot believe that the judicial system will waste time and money on this guy. This sort of thing happens in Auburn all the time with its rampant crime. It is not like Harvey laid his testicles against a tree. They are going after Harvey because Auburn is butthurt over the last game they played against Alabama. Ok, took care of it for you Bama fans, got all the stupid arse answers and remarks out the way. Now, possibly this thread has a chance to be good discussion on the issue.
