there is no doubt that he is---makes me wonder if he had landed somewhere else like Bama if he would have turned out any different

I honestly think he would have. Not every neighborhood produces the same character of kids and not every program does either. It's not like Bama only recruits boy scouts. Trent Richardson and Dre Kirkpatrick fathered 2 kids in high school. But when they got to Bama there was not a hint of a discipline problem. Kids from troubled backgrounds with no father figure don't need a hug from their coach, promises of starting day 1, etc. They need to be brought to reality and be challenged. I think the entitlement culture at UGA and Richt's relaxed discipline methods allow small problems to become bigger ones like this.

Dre was arrested as soon as he was not part of Alabama, not your best example

Some of these are during, some during and after and some just after... but all schools have similar issues...
1)Rolando, Elder, JJ, Saleem, Dre 21, Brent Calloway, Baron,
2) Felony 4, Fairley,
3) Humphries (still shocked by that one) plus 2 others (Felony 3?).

I don't know how the kid would have turned out, but IMO Saban/Bama faces the exact same challenges as any other coach/program faces.

Any one of our players may go out tonight and decide to do something stupid and land his arse in the pokey. Young testosterone loaded males are capable of doing most anything.

I will say this, for whatever reason the various issues that have come up lately at different schools just appear to be symptoms of kids that just don't give a shite to follow the rules.

I see nothing wrong with having fun, enjoying your college years. But DAMN why the hell do they feel the need to drive around smoking weed, and carrying guns?

Agree. Richt's problem is his discipline always comes after an incident. What is obviously missing is daily preventive discipline that heads off problems before they can develop.
