If I know in advance that a cop is waiting at the end of the street ready to arrest me for ANY infraction, then I damn sure won't be smokin weed/carrying a gun/drinking and driving.
I am not sure how hard this is to understand for some players.

there is no doubt that he is---makes me wonder if he had landed somewhere else like Bama if he would have turned out any different
I honestly think he would have. Not every neighborhood produces the same character of kids and not every program does either. It's not like Bama only recruits boy scouts. Trent Richardson and Dre Kirkpatrick fathered 2 kids in high school. But when they got to Bama there was not a hint of a discipline problem. Kids from troubled backgrounds with no father figure don't need a hug from their coach, promises of starting day 1, etc. They need to be brought to reality and be challenged. I think the entitlement culture at UGA and Richt's relaxed discipline methods allow small problems to become bigger ones like this.

its not the cops its the players, plain and simple. To blame someone else for another persons actions is wrong
It's not passing blame it's a reason why the drinking arrests are higher in Athens than in Auburn. Just look at the ACCPD website. Across the board people are arrested at a higher rate for public intox, MIP, etc... than other places.

Thug POS and Mark Richt breeding criminals
Hate to say it but I can't disagree with this statement. It seems starkly ironic that Richt, who has such a good guy image, seems to attract a steady stream of thug recruits.

Couldnt be because, Athens has way more bars, and a much larger population, could it?

I wouldnt say he is breeding criminals but more so not putting the fear of god into them. same thing with Meyers supposed "inner circle" of players.
It's all cyclical though, the coaches are dependent upon highly talented players to keep their job, so they have to be a little more forgiving, as their career is on the line as well.

It could. But that doesn't mean that the cops don't have a different disposition in Athens than they do in Auburn. I live in Athens and I've gone out in Auburn dozens of times. The demeanor of the police in the two cities are completely different.

All of this is R.E.M.'s fault. All of it.

Some of these are during, some during and after and some just after... but all schools have similar issues...
1)Rolando, Elder, JJ, Saleem, Dre 21, Brent Calloway, Baron,
2) Felony 4, Fairley,
3) Humphries (still shocked by that one) plus 2 others (Felony 3?).

IF he was arrested 5 hrs ago, did CMR go to the jail and tell him he is no longer on the team...has he even posted bond yet?
I'm betting Richt called and sang jailhouse blues to him.

I've talked to them too. There are some cool ones, then there are the one's who arrest you for jaywalking (roommate's friend). Athens has a higher number of dick cops. It's really not an argument.

This guy was going to take care of himself it seemed like anyways. He was always trouble at UGA from what I heard.

If anything the timing makes it a better example. They might be thugs, but while Saban is in charge, we don't have anything close to the discipline issues UGA and Florida have. And the reason is because just like every other team, we take troubled kids off the street, but they are given father figures and strict expectations, not inner circles, birthday songs, and missing man promises of being a star day 1. Take a thug and scare the shite out of him, he might have a chance. Take a thug and make him the gang leader day 1, you get a bigger thug.
