3. The man is close to a senile 85 now and 75 then - chances are high that he really really didn't pay attention once it was out of his hand/mind. 4. I don't know if these blustering old timers really understand child molestation as anything other than spanking. Does that mean it is an excuse - No but probably the man really wasn't thinking of worst case scenario or couldn't even envision it.
You can go listen to even some of his very latest press conferences. He's not that stupid or out of touch.

From what I understand... Paterno was told by the GA what he saw Sandusky doing. Paterno told his AD. AD said he will take care of it. Sandusky still on staff like nothing happened after caught molesting a 10 year old boy. You don't see the problem here? If you were Paterno, you wouldn't be thinking, "Why is this fella still on our staff and not in prison?"

a standup person like Joe Pa
how do you know he was standup? do you know him personally?
btw, a ton of people that know Sandusky personally are in complete shock right now because they always thought he was "a standup person."

From the various write-ups and articles and videos - but more so it is for me - IF this is TRUE the world is a more fricked up disturbing place and I would rather have some hope than accept that everyone fricked up person working in that university was complicit in this.

Having said that, I need to know what did JoePA know and when did he know it. The former GA would be who I need to hear from. Did JoePA really know the truth about the situation? Was JoePA part of a coverup?
The Grand Jury report says:
The graduate assistant entered the locker room, heard a rythmic slapping sound like 2 people having sex, when he looked, he saw Sandusky having anal sex with a 10 year old boy. Called his dad, his dad told him to report it to Joe Pa. He testified he reported it to Joe Pa, Joe Pa testified he was told and told higher ups.
How in the hell does nobody call the police????
Grand jury report

WTF!!!
Joe Pa actually knew about the exact event and then kept quiet!
How the frick did the GA not report it to the police!
What if it had been his niece or nephew!!
Crap - I was thinking that maybe it was not an explicit report and it was suggestive... but this is beyond fricked up and they value an employee more than than children's lives.

Holy shite that's fricked up.
Posted on 11/9/11 at 8:50 am to TbirdSpur2010
Beyond screwed up. Everyone that is found to have known about it should be charged with endangered a child at the very least. To KNOW that a child was being sexually raped and abused and not report it to authorities, is sickening.
Posted on 11/9/11 at 8:50 am to Alahunter
wow - i had no idea that part hunter - that is exceptionally fricked up.

I'd say burn it to the ground and start over. From top to bottom.
I mean, how in the hell could you expect moms and dads to send their kids there until the place is totally cleaned out?
It's a shame that Joe Pa's legacy is screwed, but he's done it to himself. When the GA called and came to his house, all he had to do was pick up the phone and call the PD to come take his statement and start an investigation.
He makes that ONE PHONE call and a lot of the shat storm falling on their program is stopped.
But no, they let that predator continue to have access to the campus, a local public school he coached at, and his "charity" for kids from broken homes to continue in his predatory ways.
From 2002 on, every 8-10 year boy this monster preyed on can be laid at Joe Pa's feet. I read the full indictment and there was even a 2nd grader listed as a victim! A 2nd grader. He was scared and didn't understand, at the time, why it was happening.
Disgusting.
Burn it to the ground!

I didn't either. Hadn't read or kept up with it, but read it this morning and found the GJ Report and read it. Guy had the same M.O. with every kid. He's a predator and evil and everyone that enabled him, knowing what he was and what he was doing should be held to some kind of criminal liability, imo.

i just can't imagine, for the life of me, why mcquery didn't either:
1- beat the shite out of sandusky and call the police
2- call the police immediately
and, why in the hell didn't joe pa call the fricking police. this is not an issue with the university. no need to even call the president first.
CALL THE frickING POLICE!!!!!!!!!!!

frick HIS LEGACY - I was really thinking that this 85 year old was senile and didn't know it. But this obviously shows the man was complicit in it.
It doesn't matter if it happened once or 10 times - WTF was he thinking - the bastard has children of his own and goes to recruits' parents and talks to them about being a father figure.
I don't get it - what is scarier - losing your job or rocking the AD boat OR SAVING THE INNOCENCE of ONE CHILD!!!!!
frick you Joe Pa for making this world a worse place and crumbling hopes and beliefs!

Maybe I am completely wrong and he knew but I have a tough time accepting that a standup person like Joe Pa was complicit in this muck - makes the whole thing sicker than it is and makes the world a gloomier place.
This bro, your looking at it one eye closed. Jo knew something, whether it was the smallest detail, that in itself should be enough to not have Sandusky represent your program. IMO

Agreed. He will be nothing but a gigantic distraction for the rest of the season.

I would call for the 'rolling of heads'- and not be all f**king day about it, either.
Penn State the institution didn't allow this evil to persist; unbelievably selfish, uncaring people in positions of authority did.
Clean house- no matter who it is.

If it was up to me I would fire all the coaches and administration in order to do some damage control. Some will call me stupid I guess, but this year's football season is kaput as far as I'm concerned. This fiasco has enough behind it to ruin a university. Who is going to send their children to Penn St if they don't do a cleaning of the entire house?
