Why is he being given a pass on the fact that he let a WR throw the ball at such a crucial time in the game? Or have I just missed that talk?

Don't know what the problem is the TE had it in his hands and should have secured the ball. The play worked otherwise. That interception is due to a great play by Reid and terrible ball protection by Williams. So I take your post more as piling it on and flaming.

You missed it because it hasn't happened. It was a great play call and Williams was wide open. Unfortunately, the guy off the edge got in Maze's grill and made him loft the ball too much, allowing the space for the DB to get over there and make the play of the game.

The same exact play was a TD against Florida last year, and would have been a TD again this year if not for the pressure.
I agree with this. It was a great play call IMO that didn't work only because Reid made an incredible play.

Bama's line should have blocked better.

Listen numb nuts. I will take a lost Saban over the cluster frick coaching we had for the previous 10 years before him. God fans like you make me want to kick babies.

This. Saban (and every coach, such as, say Miles)) comes with his quirks and his warts. But as a whole, he's among the most effective.

The Maze pass was a great playcall. Williams comes down with that ball we very likely would have won. Anyone bitching about that call is clueless.

Do you think you "got me" or something? Obviously it was a great play by LSU on the D-Line and the secondary...you just reinforced pretty much exactly what I said.

But the 'tard saying it was a shitty playcall is an idiot.

I'm a Nick Saban Homer but watching the Press Conference is sad. He has clearly lost it.

He just had a pretty tough loss. It's not worse than his post-NLU presser... The guy hates losing. Get off his back.

That's your response?

It would have been a great play call had it worked, but lsu's defensive end mingo made him throw an off balanced throw and the corner snagged it from him.

If only Saban had a little more balls on that 4th and 2 late in the game.

Should have went for it then.

The better team lost because they shot themselves in the foot. LSU did not win; Bama unwon.

Meh. That pass gets there 1/10th of a second earlier and everyone's all: "Saban beat Miles at his own game." Cest la vie.

If it was Miles calling this play, everyone would be saying what a moron he is for calling such a risky play this late in a tied game. But since it was The Great and Powerful Saban making the call, it was a very good call, and it would have worked if LSU's defense didn't pick up on it quickly.
