How many trees do Auburn fans as a whole kill each year in throwing thousands of rolls of toilet paper into the trees?

Considering that the tradition has been around for a while, and the trees have yet to die, I would guess zero...

What's the irony in all this you ask? How many trees do Auburn fans as a whole kill each year in throwing thousands of rolls of toilet paper into the trees?

The trees were already dead, right?

The chipped wood used to make toilet paper is not from 130 year old Oak trees on the campus of a University.

What's the deal with the Florida fans in this thread? Yes, there are nutcases in Alabama just like elsewhere in the country. We get it. Florida's "smart" people are too dumb to count a voting ballot so I don't know why y'all are taking shots.

More like they are just trees that have been iconic to Auburn for the last 100+ years.

He's referring to trees killed to make toilet paper I believe, not killing the Oaks by rolling them.

bullshite, you guys didn't start throwing your arse wipe material onto those trees until the 1970's. Oh, and what a great way to treat an icon by the way.

It was before that Coon, but thanks for trying to teach us Auburn grads about our history.

The irony is that the trees were being killed by pressure washing anyway.

The aubs didn't want anyone but the family killing the oaks.

That photo is from the 1900's, below is a photo showing how that tree has stayed a focal point within the city.

Toomers Corner has been a focal point of Auburn University and the city since it was founded. Players and fans that didn't travel to away games would meet there to find out the outcome of the game or celebrate a win; but yes we didn't start rolling the trees until the 70's.

Those trees could have lived for a few more decades, and that doesn't justify some idiot poisoning them. Lets not forget that the amount of poison used has now presented a danger to other vegetation within the area of campus.
