He took the same kids Tubs went 5-7 with and went 8-5 with them in his first year......
Some of us have watched enough football to be able to recognize when an upward trend is emerging.....

How is it a moral victory?
After Bammer winning the BCSNC in 3 years under Saban, and after the Aubarn moral victory of beating Bama for all but the final 1:30 of yalls game, plus the Aubarn moral victory of holding Ingram to such few yards, "stealing" a pretty good offensive gaurd in recruiting a year before he can even sign is a sad moral victory.
You didn't win an actual game, that is how it is a moral victory, capeche.

Must suck to not have a true rival who gives a crap about you...to watch you screaming for attention like this is pathetic.
Maybe you should hit up Arkansas fans for some entertaining verbal sparring.

I've watched plenty of football. Enough to know that Tubs wasn't giving it his all in his final year. I understand that bringing in top flight classes like he just did is very important, but you gotta produce on the field as well. I'm not saying he isn't going to turn out to be great, but at this point I'm not as sold on him as all Tiger fans seem to be.

Our track record with hiring head coaches is good. We are on our 6th head coach since 1949. Auburn usually picks a guy who fields good teams, Barfield in the late 70's being the exception.

The story here is that Saban got totally blindsided by the Chiz.
not likely, doubt chiz did anythingf to get his commit, more like bama coaches did something to upset his family and lose his commitment

At this point, if I was an Auburn fan, I'm not sure how much bragging I would do. Simply because signing day is almost a year from now, and if he switches to Alabama, you guys are going to get a lot of deserved shite. I would just say it was a nice pickup and drop the subject.
Well, keep that BSTYFS
bammers would give us shite no matter what.

this is what I am leaning towards what was done we may never know but somebody was upset.

Ive been quiet about this topic but I must say this commitment is strange. The kid wants to take official visits and wanted to come to Bama well in fact committed to Bama. Saban tells him no then he switches to Auburn so he can take officials. What is the fricking point of committing if you still want to take visits? Nice pick up Auburn but some of you guys are idiots thinking Chizik won a recruiting battle over Saban, when in all actuality it was a default commit.

I disagree......this kid was a lifelong fan of alabama and Saban couldn't keep him crimson.....no matter how you slice it, alabama wanted him but made the kid feel unwelcome.
That is reason for concern if you're an alabama fan...

Keep telling yourself that. We are reigning national champs, just signed another top five class, and elite recruits are breaking down the door to try and get in. Then you come to the conclusion that the loss of one player is a "reason for concern".

...and something to consider.

Spencer Region-Auburn the early favorite

This offensive lineman is receiving interest from the in-state schools and has a friend already committed to his favorite. He talks about the great start to his season and another trip on the horizon to Auburn.

I don't expect most kids to decommit and switch to a rival because their fragile feelings get hurt.... so not really
Posted on 2/6/10 at 6:47 pm to nativetiger
So the loss of one recruit who can't make up his mind is cause of concern? I guess I should jump off a cliff.

I really doubt one 17 yr old kid is going to bring down what CNS has built at bama. Be glad you got a great in state recruit from your rivals back pocket. Bama will have another top 5 class w/o this kid.
What is a reason for concern is the state of today's recruiting. Why does a kid have to commit a yr out? If he wants to take visits take visits don't create your own vacum of manufactured hype.
Congrats once again on the pickup but don't be surprised if he ends up someplace else so he can once again be the center of attention.

You say you disagree but then say:

???
So Alabama making him feel unwelcome = Chizikie winning a recruiting battle?
This is very insignificant and nothing more than an overhyped MORAL VICTORY for Aubarn.
Who good is this kid anyway? I heard at best he will be a low 4* but probably only a 3*. Who gives a shite.
Posted on 2/6/10 at 7:12 pm to BufordPuser
Guards rarely rate that high, but he'll be a top ten in-state player.
Posted on 2/6/10 at 7:14 pm to CapstoneGrad06
How good is he nationally? You guys are recruiting nationally now, especially when the state of Alabama is down like this past year.

I'm sure he's hoping to frick some of the hostesses at Tennessee.
