Paul M has 12 games left to eclipse Kingston's record for least amount of SEC wins at 8 -
Gamecock baseball had never won less than 11 SEC games in a season until MK's magical 2019 campaign -
important to note the 11 wins came in a season where only 26 SEC games were played - Kingston's 8 came in a 30 game year -

I went searching to find out if any team has gone winless in SEC baseball history, and I didn't find the answer yet, but I did find this from 10 years ago.
A definitive ranking of SEC baseball programs historically
from Bench McElroy
A definitive ranking of SEC baseball programs historically

quote:
1. LSU- 6 national championships, 16 CWS appearances, 27 NCAA tournament appearances, 15 conference championships
I'll pay LSU baseball the highest compliment imaginable. They are the college baseball equivalent of Alabama football.
2. South Carolina- 2 national championships, 11 CWS appearances, 30 NCAA tournament appearances, 3 conference championships
For a long time, South Carolina sucked at pretty much every sport imaginable. Baseball was the one exception. They were a very good program but could never get over the hump. Finally, the Cocks broke through in 2010 by winning a championship then they won another the next year and made it to a third consecutive CWS final in 2012. With that run, they have firmly established themselves as the second best baseball program in the SEC.
3. Mississippi State- 9 CWS appearances, 34 NCAA tournament appearances, 16 conference titles
Right now, Mississippi State is where South Carolina was at five years ago. The Bulldogs have had some great players and some great teams but they've just never been able to break through and win a championship. It's too bad because no other SEC team has produced as much top-tier MLB talent.
4. Florida- 8 CWS, 38 NCAA tournament appearances, 13 conference titles
Not surprisingly, Florida excels at baseball just like they excel at other sports.
5. Missouri- 1 CWS title, 6 CWS appearances, 22 NCAA tournament appearances, 20 conference championships
Almost all of their success came before 1965 but you can't argue the results. The most impressive part about Missouri has to be their coaching stability. They've only had three baseball head coaches since 1937. That's right, 1937. Being the Missouri head baseball coach might be the cushiest job in sports.
6. Arkansas- 7 CWS appearances, 27 NCAA tournament appearances, 4 conference titles
Arkansas Razorbacks baseball is very solid and consistent but nothing spectacular so they're basically like every other Arkansas sports team.
7. Texas A&M- 5 CWS appearances, 30 NCAA tournament appearances, 19 conference titles
It seems like the Aggies inability to win big games carries over to other sports. Texas A&M only has a 2-10 record in the CWS.
8. Alabama- 5 CWS appearances, 23 NCAA tournament appearances, 14 conference titles
9. Georgia- 1 CWS title, 6 CWS appearances, 11 NCAA tournament appearances, 6 conference titles
10. Ole Miss- 5 CWS appearances, 18 NCAA tournament appearances, 7 conference titles
11. Auburn- 4 CWS appearances, 18 NCAA tournament appearances, 2 conference titles
12. Vanderbilt- 1 CWS title, 2 CWS appearances, 13 NCAA tournament appearances, 6 conference titles
People might be surprised to find Vandy ranked so low on the list but historically, their baseball program ranks near the bottom in almost every category. Kentucky is the only SEC team with fewer CWS appearances and Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky are the only SEC schools with fewer NCAA tournament appearances. The improvement in perception of Vandy's baseball program just shows how one coach really can truly make all the difference.
13. Tennessee- 4 CWS appearances, 9 NCAA tournament appearances, 3 conference titles
14. Kentucky- 6 NCAA tournament appearances, 1 conference championship
Does Kentucky care about any sport that doesn't involve bouncing a round orange ball? It sure doesn't seem like it.

quote:absolutely not, that would be an incredible feat. I came across one season in the 90s where Bama only had 4 wins but if you go back any further then it was before we played 30 game schedules so not apples to apples comparison. 2025 mizzou is going down as the worst SEC team of all time

For several teams.

Florida, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee have all won their 1st title since this list was made.

Hopefully we see the good version of LSU. Been slumping a bit the last couple weeks or so. I'd like to see a good series.

Dawgs need to win this series to stop the slide.
Grab 2 of 3 here, take care of Mizzou next week and things are looking good again at 15-9 in the SEC

Mizzou is tired of not getting noticed. They have found a way to make a name for themselves.

You get credit for wasting no time on that one. I always like a guy who is quick to the draw.

I’ve never really paid any attention to college baseball or just in general since I stoped playing after graduating. I know OU was in the title a few years ago but are they actually good? I know OU tends to stack up an easy non conference schedule in every sport but in baseball I know they do play decent teams like Dallas Baptist and oral Robert’s. 29-11 seems a bit sketchy to me. Any thoughts?

Oklahoma is very much a good team. One of the best pitchers in the country and lineup is decent enough. They aren’t in the top tier of the SEC by any means. But good enough to be considered middle pack.

Well hopefully our wagons run over some bulldawgs tonight. Lol
