Refuse to let a single player run the team and hold a school hostage. Admirable decision.

No idea who is next up at QB. Hope more schools follow this thought

We need collusion by the schools. That'd stop this shite, but you'd have an Ole Miss break rank because "Muh teamz better than yourz".

Tennessee showing Alabama what they should've done with Bak during the offseason.

ETA: These kids have to live up to what they sign.

Smart decision.

Unfortunately, it ended up putting him in a better situation than Ole Miss.

I don't think that happens with Nico.

I agree. Very glad TN did this and hope other schools follow suite. Hopefully this brings about contracts to protect player and teams.

Dumbass. Ole Miss set the standard last year by letting Q move on.

I notice everyone had a different take on that situation compared to this one. It’s almost as if many of you have zero substance or integrity and are blinded by your own biases.

I hate the Vols but it took Huepel and Tennessee big stones to do this.

Major props.

Ole Miss yelling "what about us!" is certainly a choice.

Bravo Vols. You can’t let a player that isn’t elite hold a team hostage.

As much as I like giving Tennessee shite, I agree. Good for them cutting him loose. frick these hippies.

That said, Tennessee has no one to blame but themselves. This was totally a money deal from the jump. You have to try and identify the ones who are only in it for the money, and he was one of them.

They are the ones who offered him $8 mill out of HS. They helped create the problem.

Maybe Nico has a 4 mil offer on the table from another school?
But either way, you signed a contract, honor it. Tenner has gained some props in my book. Hope they cut him loose and do well without him.

Players are protected. Teams aren’t.

At least in the NFL, a player that wants more than what his current contract is paying, can’t just go play for another team. He’s bound to the team he has a contract with. If he doesn’t play, the team doesn’t pay him, and the player can only sit out.

Nico is going to go to a school out west, get $2 mil or more, and play next year. Meanwhile…. Tennessee has no starting QB for next season. They have to scramble in the spring portal to find someone, anyone to replace him.
