I haven’t applied this rating system to any OOC team, so I don’t know how everyone fits nationally. But here is how the SEC teams rank all-time based upon NCAA Tournament success:
1. Tennessee- 353.0
2. South Carolina- 137.5
3. Georgia- 132.0
4. LSU- 129.0
5. Texas- 119.0
6. Auburn- 79.0
7. Vanderbilt- 76.5
8. Oklahoma- 64.5
9. Texas A&M- 56.0
10. Ole Miss- 56.5
11. Miss St- 46.5
12. Kentucky- 42.5
13. Alabama- 36.0
14. Arkansas- 31.0
15. Florida- 25.5
16. Missouri- 19.0
12/16 SEC programs have reached a Final Four at some point in their history. That’s impressive.

Georgia 5
Titles:
LSU 1
Georgia 0

Women's basketball feels like the sacrificial lamb for UF athletics. Only sport that is really bad in the whole program.
I'm fine with it.

It is close. Georgia has made the Tournament field 6 more times (36 to 30). Georgia has made it to the Round of 32 seven more times (30-23). They’ve made the Sweet 16 three more times (20-17). Elite 8’s are even (11 to 11). LSU has one more Final Four (6 to 5). Georgia has one more Title Game appearance (2 to 1). LSU has one national title to UGA’s zero.
Ultimately the resumes are splitting hairs but the formula spits out UGA slightly ahead.
It’s built so that yes, big successes like National Titles and Final Fours are where most of the points are awarded, but there’s also a level of rewarding programs who are consistently making the Tournament.

Can you explain how UGA is even close to SC?
I mean we have to lead in Titles, Final 4's, Elite 8's? Are conference titles included?

I vaguely remember us being good at WBB.

Texas is #3 and it isnt close (top 5 in wins all time, 2rd highest win % in conference and top 7 in the nation) show me how you come up with your list otherwise this is just throwing names on a page

NCAA Tournament Appearances
36- Georgia
21- South Carolina
2nd Round Appearances
30- Georgia
18- South Carolina
Sweet 16 Appearances
20- Georgia
15- South Carolina
Elite 8 Appearances
11- Georgia
9- South Carolina
Final Four Appearances
7- South Carolina
5- Georgia
Championship Game Appearances
4- South Carolina
2- Georgia
National Titles
3- South Carolina
0- Georgia
Add it all up and Georgia has 68 NCAA Tournament wins to South Carolina’s 56 all-time.
South Carolina’s three titles are enough to put them ahead, but the Gamecocks’ lack of historical success makes it close.
Put another way, if you ranked both Georgia and South Carolina’s all-time best seasons in order, side by side, the Top 4 best seasons belong to South Carolina as do the #6 and #7 best. Three are equal. The next 30 seasons ranked in order side by side resulted in a better outcome for Georgia. At some point, a programs long term success is worth something.
It’s the same reason why Tennessee is still ahead of Auburn on the men’s side. Yes we have 2 final fours to their zero, but they’ve made the tournament way more times.

Auburn was a powerhouse in the late ‘80s. We were NCAA Tournament runner-up in 1988, 1989, and 1990. The last couple decades have been rough though.

They’re #5 and it is close. How can you say it’s not close between #’s 3-5?
National Titles
1- LSU
1- Texas
0- Georgia
Championship Game Appearances
2- Georgia
1- LSU
1- Texas
Final Fours
6- LSU
5- Georgia
4- Texas
Elite 8’s
13- Texas
11- Georgia
11- LSU
Sweet 16’s
20- Georgia
19- Texas
17- LSU
Second Round Appearances
30- Georgia
27- Texas
23- LSU
NCAA Tournament Appearances
37- Texas
36- Georgia
30- LSU
Do you really think your 2 extra Elite 8 appearances somehow trump LSU’s two extra Final Fours?

Growing up UGA’s women’s basketball was a very very good program overshadowed by Pat Summit’s teams.

I think our hundreds of more wins and significantly higher win percentage and more conference titles would say it isn’t close
