The new AD didn't hire the coach. That is part of the reason why the last AD was fired. She gave this coach a raise and extension. I think after this year he will be gone. I am not sure what he is owed if he is fired at the end of this season.

He was not extended or given a raise. This is his second year. I could be wrong, but it would be strange.
Mizzou doesn't care enough about baseball to pay this man's buyout. Unless someone ponies up a bunch of money so we can commit to baseball he'll be around for at least another year

I just went down a quick rabbit hole on Missouri baseball. I’m amazed they had only three head coaches from 1937-2016. Crazy.

I agree. Wasted money on a who gives AS college sport. Attendance is a joke compared with football and hoops. There is relatively zero interest in watching it on TV. And nationally, it just does not register at all. Nobody gives AS around the country about college baseball or the College WS. You know why? Because it sucks all the way down to the "ping" of the bat.
I prefer my school funnel baseball money to college sports that matter: football and hoops.

LSU is pretty good at football. We are 2nd, only to Alabama in National Championships won over the last 25 years.
LSU fans loves baseball. Absolutely love it. You can diss the sport all you all you want, and it won’t change the fact that in the SEC, (the conference that Missouri belongs to) Baseball is a very important sport that SEC fans enjoy and love to follow.

We cared plenty about baseball even back around 2006-2011 when we were winning the SEC West and 10-11 games in football too. So that’s not a great excuse.

I know you did. I hope y’all understand that my reply, even though it was to an Arkansas fan, it was directed at the Missouri fan that wants to diss a sport only, because they suck at it.
What he doesn’t understand (I guess, because Missouri isn’t really old south) is that southern people don’t give a damn if the rest of the country cares about something or not. If we do, that’s all that is important. And… college baseball is very important to a lot of southern sports fans.

This is a massive baseball conference with very high attendance some more than basketball. Just yet another reason Missouri is a Big Ten school in the SEC and don't fit here.

Oklahoma may be new to the SEC but they bring a lot more prestige in overall sports than Missouri.

Arkansas has better history than you in both of those as well and it’s really not that debatable.

Arkansas went to a final four, a CWS final and won a split NC in football from 1978 to 1979.
