Any AM Sports talk radio listeners on here? I listen to him from time to time and can't get a read on him. For a largely syndicated show he seems like a good host but I am a fairly new listener.

Any long time listeners have lore to pay attention to?

I haven't listened to Chuck Oliver since Chuck and Chernoff on 680 The Fan in Atlanta back in the early 2010s. Win Chuck's Dinner was always a banger.

Chuck Oliver is the king of college football. I know this because that's what the corny promo on his show says.

This is my takeaway as well, but I cannot confirm if true

He is a corny dude who thinks he is the king of college football. He has good trivia knowledge.

He is best known for getting yelled at in a presser from the 2012 SECG game by Mark Richt.

He is an Auburn guy. That said, his opinions are pretty well-reasoned and thought out, even if you don't agree with him

He emceed a couple of the Atlanta Auburn Club meet the football coach back in the early 2010s. Told a story about being a walk-on O lineman under Pat Dye. The first snap of fall practice he was lined up opposite Tracy Rocker. He said after one snap he knew what being run over by an 18 wheeler felt like.

He's a good guy. Very knowledgeable about the game and trivia. If I remember correctly he is from Gwinnett County when it was still pretty rural so he is country, but part of the corniness is his schtick.

When he's paired up with Chernoff, he's great. I don't know about him on his own.

He used to think a lot of himself. Not sure anymore. Been years since I listened to him. Always seemed to be jealous of Tony Barnhart. Tony would be called king of college football by others. Chuck would call himself that.

Got yelled at like Beaver Cleaver. Asked Richt about him and Murray laying an egg in big games, claimed a lot of people were saying it but wouldn’t own saying it himself LOL. Got off pretty lightly. Richt was laid back compared to a lot of coaxhre

He reads here, by the way. Around 2012-2013 when Damian Swann was a UGA CB, I made a hot take on the GSB that Swann should move to safety and would have a better shot in the NFL at the position of safety. Of course I was lambasted here.

The very next day, Chuck's "Hot Take of the Day" or what they call "College Football Today" or "CFT" segment, he literally repeated what I had typed out above. It's too random for him to have had that same exact thought. This was not something that had already been circulated or discussed among fans on any forum previously.
