This is why Sark is just an OC

If Texas had an HC and Sark was the OC, and given we got 1st and goal at the 1-yard line down 7 points...
You know what the HC does different?...
He walks up to Sark and says Steve let's go ahead put your cute little sheet away for this one. Put Arch in and run the sneak until I say different. Thanks Steve.
You see, that's the difference. Sark is a coordinator. He doesn't know when to step off the chess board and not overthink the damn thing, only to outsmart himself.

He’s done really well as a HC, and has Texas set up really nicely for success. I think most people agree he needs an OC for play calling.
It’s about having the dudes and Sark has demonstrated he can build teams with NFL talent.

He can't close the deal. That is what he has demonstrated.
As far as building teams, Texas money + NIL is a dangerous combination. Sark or no Sark.

I’m in the camp that says if you build the teams with the best players, and consistently are near the finish line, you break through. Like Day (most likely), Kirby, and Swinney all demonstrated. With the same level of talent acquisition I would expect Sark to do the same.

I bet Alabama would take him back as an OC in a heartbeat

After one attempt up the middle, my wife asked why run up the middle? I said so you don’t lose yards. Then they lost 8 yards.
I agree. Should have quarterback sneaked 4 times if needed.

Pretty much every school would be stupid not to take Sark as their OC if it was an option.

I would love to have him in BR.
I feel like if he keeps the recruiting where it’s at and the fan base will stay behind him he’ll have them close to top every year.
The big “if” is that fan base. They’re likely the most spoiled unappreciative fricks in all of sports.
He’s already done more than the last couple HC’s they’ve had.

Buddy, you had a decade of going 6-6…take what you can get because you don’t know when you’re going back to being average.

If y’all give him a chance he will get there. Don’t care for him but he is a good coach and NIL will get you talent.

I lived in Austin for a couple of years during Strong and Herman's tenure. Their fans still acted like they were the greatest program to ever exist even when they were going 5-7 every year.

That seems to be a reoccurring theme with teams from Texas.
I work in the O&G industry so I have to endure working with a lot of UTa & Aggy alumni and fans unfortunately

That was one of the worst bungles I've ever seen.
Note to every OC in the football world: When you have 1st & Goal from the 1, you run it up the gut 4 straight times. Period. Anything else is fully retarded

The 2024 LSU OL proved you wrong on multiple occasions. I would agree that our play calling was “fully retard” for long stretches this season.

You've got it backwards. He's shown to be a good program builder. He needs to let someone else call the plays.

Pretty sure Sark is a head coach. Believe he is at Texas currently.

Yeah, the coach ceiling narrative is just a myth IMO
