they were bit by the same issue the other bye seeds were. It's too long a layoff and that gives a huge advantage to the teams that played a little over a week ago.
Definitely affected GA and Oregon. Ga is the best team in the SEC. There's no question about that.
We're going to need a miracle similar to the miracle on ice to beat OSU.

To be fair Georgia was lucky to win in Atlanta.

Probably would have benefitted Georgia to just throw the SEC championship by playing backups

Carson Beck wouldn't have been injured and they still would have made the playoff. Just wouldn't have gotten a bye.

It was rust and playing a backup QB even if he is talented and has been in the system. And you have to credit Notre Dame too.

Crap happens. There are no givemes even though everyone likes to say the playoffs have been a bust.

Won the battle but lost the war.

But then, in the above scenario, they wouldn't have their consellation prize after losing early in the playoffs.

Looking back, I think that UGA winning in OT was probably the worst thing that could have happened to the SEC.

I still think Georgia would have been better off not having a bye and giving Stockton his first start vs Clemson and then onto ASU and Texas would have been greatly benefited by the extra week to heal up their roster.

Funny how the universe works.

The SECCG cost Georgia more than they want to admit.

Interesting stat. ASU had 510 yards of offense against Texas. Georgia never exceeded 300 yards of offense in their 2 games against Texas.

to be fair, UGA looked pretty cheeks against Texas in the SECCG too, both before and after Beck got hurt. The games looked very similar to be honest. Bad offense with good defense. Only real difference was UGA turned the ball over on their own 13 and allowed a kick return for a TD last night.

UGA's offensive warts really started to show the second half of the season. They struggled to score against Ole Miss, Texas, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, and a large chunk of the Florida game.

Nah, what happened last night was something we had been toying with all year and it but us .

I am old enough to still consider the SEC Championship the second biggest reward out there and it's ours.

And just think... Texas has this same SEC schedule next season to get them back to the playoffs.

The only good thing if you are rooting against them is that they only get three home games next season as opposed to four road games.

To be fair, they were playing the game... without their starting quarterback. You don't think that had just a little bit of an effect on the outcome?

well, with the portal and the ability for the strength of teams to flip in an offseason, you never know if their schedule ends up being considerably harder next year.

They open at Ohio St, go on the road to UGA, on the road to a likely improved Florida team and there's also A&M and and Oklahoma that could cause problems. Texas will also likely be starting Arch. We'll see if he lives up to the hype. But there are certainly several possible losses on that schedule next year.

Georgia reminds of Alabama last year. Strong team but with flaws.

Now us with our severe lack of run game from losing our RB1 in fall camp and injured OL.

Sark will have to bring out all the stops to survive this game. I feel like he was holding back the playbook v Arizona game until he absolutely needed to.

Georgia needs a new OC. Sure the kid is a freshman but let’s not pretend it would have been much better with Carson Beck under center.
