If my count is correct, the SEC could finish with just 4 OOC Top 25 wins

Projecting the final AP Top 25 and then looking how the SEC faired….

Texas beat #9 Arizona State, 39-31
Georgia beat #12 Clemson, 34-3
S Carolina beat #12 Clemson, 17-14
Texas beat #12 Clemson, 24-38

That’s it. Unless I missed something. Texas still has a shot to get one or two more.

Tennessee lost to Ohio State, 17-42
Georgia lost to Notre Dame, 10-23
Texas A&M lost to Notre Dame, 13-23
Miss St lost to Arizona State, 23-30
Florida lost to Miami, 17-41
S Carolina lost to Illinois, 17-21

When is the last time the league finished with that few OOC wins over the final top 25?

Why are you spotting Illinois a safety bro?

Adding in games against unranked OOC opponents…

Alabama lost to Michigan, 13-19
Arkansas lost to Oklahoma St, 31-39
Auburn lost to Cal, 14-21
Kentucky lost to Louisville, 14-41
LSU lost to USC, 20-27
Miss St lost to Toledo, 17-41
Oklahoma lost to Navy, 20-21
Texas A&M lost to USC, 31-35
Vanderbilt lost to Georgia State, 32-36

Bad year overall. I’d say it’s obvious we didn’t deserve more than 3 teams in the playoff.

Well well well…

Texas went from “haven’t beaten anyone” to being the team to have the most OOC top 25 wins.

Also, is it possible Michigan sneaks back into top 25 after back to back wins of tOSU and Bama? Hmmm

You know what? I just don't care frankly. Just like I didn't care when everyone said Texas would be running through a murderer's row in the SEC.

Seeing that #12 Clemson, despite them having four losses, just doesn't seem right.

How did Auburn do in your bowl game?

Texas lost twice to the only good SEC team it played.

Just a lucky schedule this season.

Very doubtful. #16 - #25 all won their bowl games except for #20 Colorado.

So at most only one new team slides in. That last spot will likely come down to Colorado, Louisville, Kansas St, or LSU.

I am so devastated what random other team's fan thinks. [eyeing the Cotton Bowl game against another storied program - will be a tough one, but anyone still alive in the playoffs can win it all]

Yeah. The Final Top 6 is obvious… will be OSU, Texas, Notre Dame, PSU, Oregon, and Georgia in some order.

But then it gets tricky…

#7 Tennessee lost
#8 Boise St lost
#9 Indiana lost
#10 Arizona St lost
#11 Alabama lost
#12 SMU lost
#13 Clemson lost
#14 S Carolina lost
#15 Miami lost

When 7-15 all lose, it’s almost like they will all stay the same. I suspect Ole Miss will jump ahead of most of these. I think voters will punish SMU and Boise the hardest.

Definitely a clusterfrick for the rankings. I don't see how South Carolina could be ranked ahead of LSU, for example. Same record and LSU won the head to head.

You're missing the point. We were told it was a murder's row and there are no weeks off. You didn't include an "*" in those comments we had to hear for 2 years.
I guess if you move the goal post enough you'll finally get where you feel comfy.
