He looks extremely timid in most games, but can make most throws look very easy

He exhibits 5 star talent with 2 star gameplay

It's entirely Heupul, he can't develop QBs.

Even his best case, Sam Bradford, didn't really develop year to year and was stunted when he got to the NFL.

Come on now. He was much better as a sophomore than a freshman.

I'm not ready to crown him yet like most Ole Miss fans but I'm really encouraged by his poise and performance in real games so far. I've wondered if being a pitcher on our baseball team helped him out with being in front of large crowds and taking on top level competition.

He’s Milroe but a lot slower and less of an athlete. Most teams that have won NC don’t have running, athletic QB’s. Burrow, JJ Mcarthy, Mcarron, Tua, Trevor Lawrence, Mac Jones, Matt Flynn, Chris Leak, McElroy, etc..

Sure a 2005 Vince young won it and there are a few, but statistically game managers, who can make the necessary throws, with very good defenses win NC’s.

Even in the NFL it seems to work as well. Sure Allen and Mahomes can run, but they’re definitely a pass first, great game manager style of QB. Thats what their stats show. Historically, those guys and the Mannings, Brees, Rodger’s, of the world become legends.

As a Tennessee fan I agree. He struggles to see the field and anticipate people coming open. He waits until they are open instead of throwing them open.

I do think a change in system would help. We don’t run any misdirection or bootlegs to get people open in the flat. Our offense has no creativity. Heupels offense has always been simple but previous years we threw in some nice wrinkles, this year there was nothing.

I’m hoping Heupel actually brings in some coaches with outside ideas and incorporates them into a nice new scheme.

Burrow and Lawrence are both athletic and would run when needed.

He’s young, he can always get better!

Last night solely falls on his coaches for not adjusting to what OSU was giving them.

Has anyone ever seen Nico and DJ Uiagalelei in the same room together?

You named several QBs who were better runners than Nico.

He's not great but he's wayy better than Jalen Milroe.

That aside, even Alabama fans forget how mobile Tua was before all the injuries started taking toll. He was pass first, and always looking downfield, but he was a very good running qb when he decided to take off.

edit: pre injury. Sadly, after all the injuries had affected him, he still had the mentality to finish the play when he should have taken the slide.

Even when he runs it’s scary. He’s not a great runner and the way he flails about he’s gonna get Tua’d.

Wild to pay that kinda money for a shite product.
