I just want an actual competition not based around who has the best media campaign.

The best player to play, not some LANK/STANK BS.

No. I changed my team logo to that one a long time ago, probably in response to LSU cheating allegations, and never bothered to change it back.

The best man for the job. I don't care who it is.

Whoever wins a wide open competition. Whoever it is I'd like to see them named after the spring so they can really take on a leadership role over the summer heading into fall camp. Not a fan of having competition in fall camp and on into the season. You should know what you have after spring practices.

Ideally, it's Ty in 2025...then Keelon in 2026 and 2027...and then potentially Gunner Rivers in 2028+

Agree with you on let's pick The Man early, but don't omit Mack from the discussion for down the road.

Whoever can read the defense and allow the offense to operate at its best efficiency. I don’t need flashy just get the ball where it needs to be whether that’s handing it off, dumping it off or over the top. Don’t care.

If it's Milroe, and he's the best qb in the room, I want him. But I'd also like Saban to make a sizeable contribution to the NIL fund since he didn't earn his check on the recruiting trail the last few years he was here.

I agree with this. My personal observation has led me to believe Ty would have the inside track.

I really don’t care who it is as long as we know that everyone earned their snaps by being the best and most disciplined person for the job, and not owing at all to favoritism of any kind. And also, if someone is openly insubordinate to the coaching staff, they need to face repercussions of some kind.

Needs to have good pocket presence/movement and a feel for pass rush pressure. Unless our OL improves significantly, he better be quick and elusive, too.

Whoever runs DeBoer’s offense the best.

This year I thought Ty to be the best option overall. Next year? I am not sure. Spring should help define that a little better. My hope was that the last 3rd / 4tr of this season plus post season could help define it.

I have not looked at anything from the incoming freshmen so that will have to wait.

- Best throwing motion - Ty
- Best ability to see the field (structurally) - Mack
- Best release point - Ty
- Best variable release angle - Mack
- Quickest release - both are slow but Ty's is longer than Mack's. Ty's is over the top while Mack has more whip from 3/4 release
- Best footwork - both seem to be good
- Best reading the D - Ty
- Best runner - Ty
- Best deep ball - close but Mack appears to be a little better
- Best knowledge / understanding of what CKD wants - Mack (maybe) What was learned this year was not the KD offense. What Ty may have picked up in the spring puts him closer to the starting point Mack had.
- Best at read-option - Ty

Who will win the job - No Clue and really do not care as long as the best option (whomever that may be) stands up and takes the job.

Imagine for a second a QB that can change and slide protections at the line based on, and stick with me, what he SEES the defense doing pre-snap!

Crazy to think about, I know.

The ideal would be a high quality offense with Ty Simpson as a bridge year starter to Keelon Russell in 2026.

Very few freshmen QBs are built like Jalen Hurts. I fear for their durability back there as a true freshman unless our offense line becomes more Fort Knox and less Maginot Line.
