One of the coolest things the redcoats do that nobody really notices is how in December/January, when UGA wins, they’ll play Glory Glory and then immediately transition into Ode to Joy. I first noticed it at the GT game in 2022

SkyCast would’ve had perfect sound mixing and atmosphere to pick it up but unfortunately they cut the feed as soon as ETN scored

You can kinda hear it on the main broadcast though

It’s the most emotionally moving piece ever composed. Thanks for bringing this up.

Go check the Redcoat Band IG page or the UGA page showing them and the Georgettes in the stands reacting to the win. Half the Band is crying. Drum Major is balling like a baby while direction. Pretty cool. One of my kids was a RC Trumpet, good stuff!!

Love it. It's a beautifully arranged musical transition.

My wife (an FSU grad) even noticed it on tv and commented that was very cool.

I play it as part of the postlude at church during football season during home game weekends and big games. Hearing the Redcoats play that in Sanford is one of my all-time favorite UGA traditions.

Now, if we could get them to play the college band version of the B-52s’ “Roam” as in the Marriott commercials this year…
