Been saying it for years.

All those vocal Bama fans who were so pissed when they expanded from 4 teams are nowhere to be found right now.

If they go to 16 we’re gonna have to go to a 10 game regular season or drop conf championship games all together. It’s going to be too many games at some point.

I believe FCS has done this for years. Just follow their model.

Yep and they play 10 regular season games. Until sec and big ten break and just drop the whole it’s academic charade you can’t expect them to be full time students, keep their grades up and play football like they’re in the NFL

You'd just be asking for players to opt out and start training for the NFL Combine.

It's December. The Combine is only 3 months away. Your team is asking you to play 5 more games and risk getting injured before the Combine when you could clean out your locker, hire an agent, get some up-front money and start training and chilling in Arizona.

Still thinks it's pretty dumb, but if you are going to expand into "teams that don't have an argument for the Top 5" you might as well go to the FCS model (which this is more like).

Have to drop the regular season to 10/11 games and get rid of conference title games, though.

This is exactly what's going to happen when bowl tv ratings go down low enough. No one wants to watch a bowl game with all the best players opting out.

Why?

FCS teams play 12 regular season games and then have a 24 team playoff.

Please just stop expanding. 4 was fine. An expansion to 6 and rewarding the top 2 conference champions with byes would have been perfect.

Instead they doubled that plan, and put as at 12 teams. Fine, it’s fun, but still tough to get in for the most part. Let the 1st team out bitch, who cares.

But instead people are already talking about expanding to 14, 16, or dear god 24?!

Stop the madness. If anything, we should be talking about contracting down to 8 or 6.

I am fine with dropping the Conference Champ game if it means going to a playoff like this.

FCS does it and it works fine.

Hell even drop the FCS game

I think just the conference title games will be sacrificed, but it is a sticking point. The SEC makes a lot of money on that game.

12 is obviously too many so what kind of shite show do you think this garbage will be? We can't just keep expanding until Mizzou gets in lol.

Spoken as a fan of a team that gets all the breaks when the "eye test" comes into play. Screw Bama.

Shouldnt be that big of a deal. I have thought for a few years now to get rid of conference championship games.

Starting in high school, most players who are on successful teams are playing anywhere from 13-15 games in a season already. Doing so at the college level would not be anything new. The difference in college and high school is that you would need time to work in a couple of bye weeks.

Once they get to the NFL, if they are playing on a successful team they could play anywhere from 17-21 games if a player makes the Super Bowl.

Youre an idiot with zero reading comprehension. In my scenario, Alabama wouldn’t come close to the playoffs this season. You people do literally “see red” and your brains shut off.

So A&M wouldn’t make a 24 team playoff either.

Well damn that's the most sane take I've heard about the playoff all year.
