Deboer. I'm kind of shocked at how poorly he did.

I mean Milroe had become a somewhat competent passer and slowly the passing game just completely shut down.

The team just played stupidly all year. The film of the left side of the line shows constant confusion as to who to block. It was a crap shoot as to whether Proctor blocked the right guy. Even Booker seemed often slow and plodding in pass protection.

Literally, the offense seemed to erode from a promising work in progress down to one or two quarterback keepers as the only semi-reliable plays.

Deboer makes Shula's notorious deer in headlights look seemed like George Washinton's crossing the Delaware.

It has to be one of two things. This team is composed of the worst collection of self centered, immature young people who have generated a toxic culture antithetical to all things winning, or, we have hired a very, very flawed coach on the basis of two years of big time football experience, and one outstanding season that may very well have been the product of luck.

I mean, there were disappointments, but plenty of people were predicting worse records than this both here and in the media. Many of the wins were ugly, but Alabama has been winning ugly since 2021.

Did you go into a coma at the end of the 2020 season and wake up in August?

Back right before the retirement, I thought Nick Saban with a few more starters and significant contributors from 2023 (Amos, Bond, and Downs) would go 10-2.

This was not an easy schedule though it did end up toughening up and weakening in areas that may not have been expected in my original outlook.

9-3 at the top line for a year one program is not bad. Two of the three losses are baffling, miserable losses to inferior opponents. So I can’t say I’m happy with this 9-3 because it should have been 11-1 if they didn’t no show two road games against 6-6 opponents.

And you think Saban looked any better putting a suspended DJ Hall in the game just to try and salvage a win against ULM? You so called fans that have only been following Bama since Saban started winning shite need to hop back off as quick as you hopped on. Never forget Rivershittytider was one of the three stooges with huddie ledbetter and the other guy whose dead now that made this board miserable ruining every thread for 6 months over the Tua hurts BS. Get to packing loser.

My only frustration was games we should have won that I think we lost due to just poor coaching and discipline. If we had genuinely lost these games due to being a team that was anemic in the talent department that still gave it their best shot to win I would feel better. But there were losses due to terrible play calling and just undisciplined players not playing to their full potential.

I've followed Bama since before you shite diapers.
I remember getting cursed out for criticizing Mike Shula.

It's OK. It's cool being the "reasonable" fan. So chalk up you down votes

I haven't given up on Deboer yet, like I did Shula. But I'm not going to pretend there was a modicum of improvement on that offensive football team this year.

Three months and 12 games and no progress. Only regression.

That's pretty disappointing coming from an offensive coach.

It is pretty obvious that it is coaching.

Results on the field say it all.

Milroe is the same QB that was good enough to win a SEC Championship last year and go to the playoffs.

Coaching... what about when Saban lost to a mediocre Aggy team in 2021 with Bryce Young at QB?

What about last year when the greatest coach in the history of the game needed a fluke play to beat an equally bad Auburn team with the luxury of the 40+ players who transferred or went pro? Or when he was blown off the field by a team Deboer beat? Or when he had to fight off a 4 win Arkansas comeback because Milroe and the offense went full retard in the second half? Or was an onsides kick recovery away from potentially losing to A&M? If he had retained Golding, those struggle wins are almost certainly losses.

Deboer lost nearly one and a half recruiting cycles with the transfers. The talent composite shows we only have four upperclassmen in the top 18. Four. The youth can be attributed to the inconsistencies this year.
