Looks like we fell short unfortunately

Looks like the decision for last team in is between Alabama, South Carolina, and Miami.
Eta: and I guess if Clemson beats SMU in ACCCG you could see SMU, Clemson and Miami in? Wouldn’t that be something if ACC and SEC both got 3 teams in.

On Fanduel our yes/no playoffs odds are the exact same as the Clemson/SMU money line so it seems to me if SMU wins, we're in.
But somehow SMU's "yes" to make the playoffs is -290 (they're only -104 to win the game).
Not really sure how that math adds up unless somehow we're in with an SMU loss (hence the matching odds) and SMU can still replace someone else to get in... but I have no idea who that could possibly be.
Also worth nothing that Miami is basically dead (10 to 1 to make the playoffs)
and Scar is nearly 4 to 1 to make it.
Ole miss is nearly 30 to 1 so they're also pretty much dead
Unfortunately the way the talking heads have it is wildly different than what the betting markets have so we probably won't learn anything until it's all said and done

It's between Alabama, Ole Miss, SC and Miami
Alabama and Ole Miss have beaten SC. Miami hasn't beaten a ranked opponent and have a soft SOS.
SC beating Clemson is great but just shows the ACC is lesser as a conference. They still lost to two teams ahead of them and that victory doesn't make them erase that. Neither of these teams have significant injuries that make them worse off.
All this is about is some media and Alabama haters trying to find a way to not see Alabama make it. Too bad the committee already showed they favor us by having us in front of Ole Miss and SC

All we can do is wait and see boys. AP and coaches doesn’t mean anything. CFP Committee next ranking will probably give us a good idea even though it could come down to the championship weekend something may happen.

This is true but I'm confident and I know you are too.
Had SC beaten Clemson by 30 then we would have a problem. They won a tough game that proves they're a good team. They still lost to Ole Miss and Alabama and they can't justify SC jumping over both just because "feelings" about "who deserves!".

Bama has better wins than both and head to head victory over South Carolina. If they used the same method of comparison as basketball does, this wouldn’t even be a debate

Here’s what I know. People want to see Bama play PSU or ND. The revenue would be huge. That’s a factor.

I just don't see how SMU can be in with a loss.
They've beaten nobody, have lost to every ranked team they played, and their conference champ would have 2 losses, both to teams we beat.
Doesn't mean I think we really deserve to be in but they've got absolutely nothing

That would. Miami traveling to Penn State would be attractive for the B1G led committee as well.
The thing is week 13 they already showed us they valued us by ranking us 7th (8-2) ahead of Miami at 8th (9-1).
They just need to be consistent.
As another poster stated if they were doing this like NCAA basketball Miami wouldn't even have a case over SC and Ole Miss.
Heck Syracuse is 9-3. Syracuse has wins over 2 currently ranked top 25 teams and one over GT which Miami lost to. Why should Miami be seen as better than them?

The basketball committee looks at how a team is playing in it's last 10 games. This committee has repeatedly said full body of work. So although SC has played well the last 5 or 6 games, that doesn't erase H2H against Bama or Ol Piss. Not to mention that Bama has better wins. Miami schedule is weak with no wins of big importance to speak of. What's funny is, of the lineup of folks on espn, several have SC in, one has Bama in, several for Miami, and then several with AZ St.
I know we have been chosen before when noone thought we were/should, and maybe we have run out of luck, but that committee knows where the money is and who will bring it? Bama. Not saying we are in, but I like our chances.

SOR is 10 to 11 for Alabama versus SCAR. SOS is 16 vs 15. Head to head will win there, not sure about Ole Miss as they were already behind SCAR in both but ranked ahead, I assume it stays the same
Miami dropped to an SOR of 14 though

ETA: We’re looking at a Clemson win over SMU ending our chances. Why did we want Miami losing last night?

The good part is we are talking about this because we actually have a chance. I’d rather be having this conversation than the alternative. I think the decision is between Bama and Miami not Bama and SC.

Bama really needed Georgia to lose.
South Carolina will not get in over Alabama. No way to explain that one.

You keep saying this shite like it means something even though Syracuse is literally the best team Miami has played all season. If they had even one great win to hang their hats on we can start talking about losing close games to good teams, but they don't. Who is their best win? 7-5 Florida who was absolutely hopeless the first month of the season? Louisville? Duke? Miami is a fricking joke and as little as we deserve to be in the playoff they deserve it exponentially less for playing that pathetic schedule.

That game has become unforgivable for me.
