ESPN made a big deal about it last night and is continuing to hammer it today when showing the highlights

For anyone that was there, was it really as big of an exodus as espn is making it out to be?

There were. We have more than our share of bad fans unfortunately. Even the media sees it. Congrats to the Quitter Nation.

It didn’t feel like lots of folks left to me.

I would say 5-10% bailed after the Tech touchdown.

It was painful to watch and late af. I get it.

This was end of game soo..not that many.

I was there, obviously there were some fans that left but I thought the stadium was still pretty packed till the end of the game. It was also cold as hell so I was kinda surprised more people didn’t leave when we were down 14 with 4 or 5 minutes left.

That is a great picture !!

Oh, by the way, since the main forum is locked at the moment:

Tech would have beat Tennessee easily last night.

Some people have hard stops with baby sitters. Some left but not a lot

If I was there I wouldn’t have left. However sitting here at home watching, I gave up three times

This was us. Also, that was an exceedingly long time for anyone to sit in near freezing temps.

South stand field level track exiting to Tate parking lot was full. I get it. Didn't feel like it was our night, it was cold, LATE and miserable. BUT...glad I stayed to the end. Watched a game in person that will be spoken of/referred to for decades.

I recall thinking we lost a good 10% of the crowd but it was as loud if not louder at times than when it was packed.

There were a lot more empty seats on the south stands from what I could tell.

A lot of Southerners still haven’t figured out how a warm hat that covers your ears solves this. Its like they’d rather be miserable and borderline hypothermic than to put someting on their head besides their thin cotton ball hat.

Kirby Smart is a great example. A visor is a hot weather accessory by concept and design. Its literally engineered to keep your head cool by letting the top of your head breathe. So why wear it at night when its 35 degrees? It makes no sense

Take RealDawg’s photo as evidence. Of course, the hero in the center knows whats up.

But im pretty sure some chick is wearing a straw hat over there on the bottom right. That might be an even dumber choice than a visor. Except for the no hat fellows that are also rampant in this exhibit

FWIW we were dressed in layers with beanies and a blanket. We came prepared, clock just ran out on us. Wife could barely walk back to the car her feet were so numb from the cold

Could be a sock deal then. Whats her situation down there? Im guessing cotton. Look into smart wool and wrap a few pairs up and put them under the tree

Our section had all the regulars like us bundled up, but there were a LOT of younger folks there dressed like they planned to walk downtown after and they were suffering for it
