This wasn’t the beatdown I thought it would be. To be honest I thought the dudes sounded really stupid here. They were probably drunk though. “TEXAS. TEXAS. TEXAS.”
She didn’t say Texas wasn’t #1 in Texas she just said that A&M is #2 and it’s not as dramatic of a fall off between Texas and A&M.
I’m biased because A&M is a big rival for LSU so I tend to agree with her, but I acknowledge my bias. She went to school there what’s she supposed to say.
But they said it’s like Michigan / Michigan State. She said it’s more like Oklahoma / Oklahoma State.
They said “YES!” As if they’re the same thing. They’re not.
There’s a clear difference between Michigan/Michigan State vs OU/OSU

A&M fans are almost carbon copies of Oklahoma State fans lol. Shocking what they think of themselves in terms of history and general standing across the board. Not just football either lol. I remember when Eddie Sutton stepped down as basketball HC, 99.9999% of all Oklahoma State fans were appalled Bill Self wasn't leaving Kansas to coach there lol.

So A&M does more with less. Seems like potential pay scale and ROI are significantly more important than PUF allotment. But that’s just me.

Listen - I HATE A&M, but I don't see them as some far lower school than Texas. It would help if they won some football games here and there but a 1/2 argument isn't really all that far off.

Yes, those guys were just as clueless as she was.
Texas and ATM are way closer to each other on any measurable level than they were stating. But Texas is a little higher in the pecking order on most things.
As far as the Michigan vs. Michigan State thing... Same deal. Michigan is better but not to the degree that they think they are. But there probably is a bit more separation between those two schools than between Texas and A&M.
One fascinating thing about Michigan and Michigan State is that there are only like four counties in the entire state that send more students to Michigan than to Michigan State. Michigan has way higher out of state enrollment.
