I remember when his name in the job market was hotter than a $3 pistol.

I'll never forget Herman mocking that Missouri QB. I hope he never works around kids/young adults again.

Hiring coaches is such a crapshoot.

This dude had an .846 win percentage at Houston over 2 years.

.640 at Texas

.276 at FAU

Herman was actually a pretty good coach at Texas.. way better than Charlie fricking Strong.. not as good as Sark.. he could get Texas up to play against anyone in the country.. and then lose to some shite burger the next week.

But his biggest issue was the Eyes of Texas BLM movement that went around during the covid year when people clearly had too much time on their hands.. he completely lost the locker room over it.

As a head coach, I thought he was pretty good.

As for his next stop, I think he will land somewhere as an OC.. hopefully not at OU.

what if I told you Texas fired Tom Herman after 50 games to only improve +2.5 game of overall record in the 49 games since .... ?

if Texas can beat Kentucky this weekend Steve S will improve to 35-15 in the 50 games since Herman was fired -

Herman was 32-18 when he was removed -

This was quite the improvement over Charlie's .432 (16-21)

Texas and LSU both wanted the guy and Texas won the bidding war. We were so happy.

LSU goes on to hire Ed O, who wins a title in a dream season while Herman's own players were telling recruits not to come to Texas.

Talk about a falling star.

Hottest name in CFB.
Lots of P5 schools giving him a call.
Gets hired by Texas.
Mocks Mizzou in a sub-tier bowl win.
Is decidedly not back after beating UGA in a top tier bowl game.
Gets fired from Texas.
Gets angry that USF runs the score on his shitty FAU team after his shitty FAU team ran up the score on USF the year prior.
Gets fired.

Look at the progression on Sark

Year 1 - 5 wins
Year 2 - 8 wins
Year 3 - 12 wins
Year 4 - 9-1 through 10 games

On top of that, our depth is way better than I can ever remember, even better than Mack Brown's glory days.

NFL Draft Picks
Herman - 14 (2018-2021)
Sark - 16 (2023-2024) with 8+ projected each of the next 2 years

Sark had a tough first year.. but it's really not comparable imo.

He would’ve been a perfect candidate for the Saban coaching rehabilitation clinic.
