I think what they should go to the basketball tournament style, start with top 32 teams.
Cut two Powderpuff games off the regular season. If you make it to the championship. If I figured it up right. The teams would play the same number of games as they would now. With 32 teams in that should take care of a lot of the crazy decisions they are making.

this is the kind of idea I'd expect from someone from loganville

It would solve all the fuzzy math from the committee Put in whoever they want to.

Those 2 powderpuff games are home games. That’s a lot of revenue to give up.

I think the amount of teams is fine. They need to quit rewarding teams for simply avoiding losses by playing terrible schedules. Indiana, Notre Dame and Penn State are are huge beneficiaries of bad schedules. Automatic G5 team is also a garbage idea

Loganville Georgia is the home of Grayson high school the biggest recruiter of players in the southeast.

They need to ditch all of the automatic bids and just go with the 12 best teams. A 4 loss conference champion has no business playing in the playoff.

That would be great but all the conferences wouldn’t agree to that and expansion required a unanimous vote.

This would completely defeat the purpose..
with the current setup, College FB is alive and a constant topic of conversation across the country..
Who will get it? What happens if? Blah blah blah.. This increases viewership, which increases future payouts.. it's a win win for everyone involved..
We don't need clarity. If you aren't good enough to get in with 12 teams.. you definitely weren't good enough with 4 teams.. or in the BCS days with 2 teams.. or in the old system..
I prefer 14 or 16 teams or 12 teams with the bye's handed out differently.. but this is the best of all worlds imo.. At 32 teams, it would just be watered down during the regular season.. whereas now, almost every game really counts.. you can lose 1 time and be safe.. but 2 losses puts you on the bubble..

Give SOS heavier weight than it obviously has now. Undefeated with SOS of 100 should not top any team with 1 or even 2 losses and a top 50 SOS. That's not theoretical, BTW. Indiana is undefeated with SOS of 100.

While I understand what you are saying.. if someone had this schedule, how can you blame a team if all of these teams for completely shite the bed?
1-9 Florida State
2-8 Mississippi State
3-6 Kentucky
3-6 Auburn
3-7 Oklahoma State
4-5 Florida
4-5 Michigan State
4-5 UCLA
4-5 USC
5-5 Oklahoma
5-5 Michigan
5-5 Virginia Tech
That schedule for the last 20 years would be one of the hardest in the country. There would be no good wins.. no ranked opponents.. that's just bad luck sometimes..
Texas for example plays..
Michigan
Oklahoma
Georgia
Texas A&M
Florida
Arkansas
And everyone thinks it's an easy schedule.. because most of those teams suck this year.. but those teams have also won the last 3 National Championships.. and 3 others in the last 25 years..
The system isn't perfect, but you can only play the teams in front of you.
Texas plays at Ohio State next year. On what planet is that an easy game, even if they go 6-6 next year.

I agree. Schedules are made so far in the future. As long as you’re scheduling Power 4 teams w historical good programs, hard to penalize them if the teams on the schedule happen to be in a down cycle that particular year. I’m sure some years PSU and ND could play similar teams in the future and it could turn out to be completely different .

We’ll have 32 teams before you know it but they aren’t cutting games
maybe the form a super league and cut conference championships.

My take has always been 24 teams, but I am not averse to 32.

They built a new fried chicken place at the entrance. It's hit or miss. But a great location.

Will need a few adjustments over next several years to fix the number of BS teams in top 12 that or really 15-20 ranked if looking at SOS. It’s obvious to date that SOS not a factor. Will they penalize conference championship losers? We already know if a starting QB gets injured late, that’s another variable committee will be using in the last week. Turning into a socialist concept that everyone should get in on record alone. Regardless of conference and who has played. We shall see how it turns out but could generate more backlash in the end than expected.

No stay 12 but the freakin committee needs to grow some balls as someone famously said , rank the best teams ahead of teams with a better record
Posted on 11/14/24 at 8:53 pm to Landmass
I said the exact thing before the season even started. Take the top 12 and play ball.
