Opened Mizzou -3 and is now OU -3.5 with news Cook is out and OU is getting 2 WR and 1 OL back from injury.
I do like the Sooners here. Their new OC has opened it up and Arnold is looking better each week. Pyne might be the worst QB in D1 and they won't be able to score more than 10.
It will be ugly, but I like OU 23-10

Mizzou’s whole season was extremely dependent on Cook being healthy all year. How did they not have a QB2 ready to play this year? It’s a gamble to bank on capable QB all year.

Our backup was Sam Horn, 4 star top 15 QB who got hurt in the offseason. Most believed Horn was a threat to unseat Cook this year.
When he got hurt we scrambled to find Pyne. Our QB coach left last year for an OC (he’s now at UK) and took our then 3rd stringer with him.
To summarize - Pyne in reality is our 4th string QB, he is backed up by a kid who was a slot receiver to begin the year. We do have a true freshmen named Aidan Glover for whom the entire fanbase wants to see, but rumors are he simply doesn’t know the plays well enough to play.
Thats why the line moved 6 points from a handicapped Cook to Pyne. NOT a healthy Cook. A Cook with a bad ankle and potentially broken wrist, the drop off is still 6 points! A healthy Cook to Pyne would have probably been a historic 15+ line move.
We are Cooked.

Mizzou is one of the bottom 4 teams in the league.
Going to be a rough finish for them.

Did you see Drew Pyne play QB for Missouri against Bama?
He shouldn’t start at a high level HS.
He’s in the top 10 of worst QBs I’ve ever seen start a game in the SEC.
Accuracy? No
Arm power? lol
Field awareness? Zero
Mobile? No
At least guys like Robby Ashford can run it if needed.

Is he out? If so I’d bet the house on the under.

Mizzou has depth pretty much everywhere except QB, and its the downfall of the season. Coaching staff whiffed on the backup role after Horn injury. Mizzou is completely different team without Cook. Not saying Cook is great, he hasn't been this season. But he can lead a team to victory. OU wins big if Pyne is starting QB.

Waiting for those SEC checks to clear so we can afford his $45MM buyout

That was last year not this year ZERO people thought Cook would lose out after last year. Horn was hurt during baseball season ast year.
As for Cook being out here is the Mizzou Injury report yesterday
Brady Cook-Questionable
WR Mookie Cooper Questionable
RB Nate Noel Questionable
Burden not on the report at all and though Cook is only Questionable I would be suprised to see him go out this week to play.

Missouri wasn’t very good with Cook healthy

While this may be true... it won't be because Pyne won't have open receivers in OU's secondary.
There hasn't been a team OU has played this year that hasn't been able to at least scheme guys open.
What makes me nervous about Missouri is that much like Texas and some other teams... your receivers don't need to be "schemed" to get open because they are really talented.

He was first injured in week two on a TD run.

I agree with you here. That's why it is so puzzling that he started for ND and actually won 8 games. How does a guy drop off so much?
Here's an internet blurb regarding his 8-2 season with ND after starter Tyler Buchner went down in Week 3.:
Drew Pyne is a quarterback for Notre Dame. He completed 164-of-254 passes, a 64.6 completion percentage, with 22 touchdown passes and six interceptions. He ranks No. 20 in the country for individual quarterback efficiency. He also rushed for 108 yards and a pair of TDs. His 155.3 quarterback rating ranked 20th in the FBS. He led the nation in completion percentage in road games (.742) and passing efficiency in road games (186.4).

Not all peachy for OU they are going to be without their best back Javonte Barnes rushed for 220 yards last week and our RT again . We prob are starting 3-4 freshman again on the OL.

Who is even the QB for the Sooners? Arnold or Hawkins? I’m confused by the movement as to who starts the rest of the year for you guys.
