All they will do is come up with a signal that can't be interpreted as directing the player. Player claims a crap.
The only way to fix this is to have an in-game penalty. If a player injury causes a stoppage, the player should have to sit until
A. a timeout is called, or
B. a change of possession.
An exception should be made for QB.
A possible addition could be a penalty box type scenario where a player may reenter without A or B after a certain amount of game clock time.

$50k fine per injury?
Regardless, going to be unenforceable and very hard to prove. Coaches won’t pay the fines
Easiest solution is if player goes down, he’s out the rest of the possession. If you’re so hurt you need to stop play, you’re too hurt to come back after one play. That takes away any judgment the league or officials would have to implement for fines or penalties and would also put a stop to this nonsense. And if you want to avoid the above, you have to burn a timeout

Seems completely reasonable, and they already basically have it with the tent. If you have to stop play to come off the field you sit until a change of possession or number of minutes/plays.
They could also change to NFL hashes b/c a lot of this is because the defensive players are on the far sideline so it’s too difficult to sub.

You know he’s going to be whining like a little girl at his very next press conference. It will definitely be someone else’s fault I’m sure.

Pretty stupid. Is there a school out there that won't pay $50k to win a game? Or more?
What if it's a big game, the incentive just keeps getting higher.
They'll pay how much to rush the field, but not $50k to win?
It's taking action for the sake of looking like you are actually doing something. Nothing but PR.

player sits out the rest of the series. Not just till another first down, but the entire series

There isn't a coach in the SEC who wouldn't gladly give away 50k for an advantage in game.

Injury on the field, player must go to the locker room to be examined unless it’s an obvious injury from a hit or something of that nature.
If a player just falls out for no apparent reason then it should be treated as a head injury or such sense they can’t stand up by themselves.
It’ll be abused until rules are made to stop it. It isn’t just Kiffin who does it.

Someone with more knowledge of how this works might know the answer…can the SEC unilaterally change how the game is officiated/Major rule change mid season?
I’m assuming they can regulate university/coach behavior within their jurisdiction without any conversation. Maybe more will follow after the season??

I hope Kiffin has been saving his pennies...

Going to have an SEC trainer ready to see if they're really hurt or not.

Is the SEC trying to get listed on a stock exchange? They seem fine happy and revenue desperate. Sankey must have a mistress on the payroll. ACC doesn’t care if you storm the field.

Long overdue. Can we retroactively fine Kiffin?
