It's Sampson, Hunter, or Moss, right?

Sampson, 144 carries for 838
Hunter: 120 for 862
Moss: 119 for 757

Ole Miss’ best back can’t even see the field because our big brained OC and RB coaches are too smart to play him.

Hunter would easily hit 1,500 in a Kiffin offense that tried to milk every ounce of energy out of Quinshon. We dont use his talents enough.

I think Sampson, Hunter, and Moss all have arguments.

Sampson has the volume and TDs
Hunter leads in YPC
Moss is in the middle with good YPC and TDs

Then there is a step down to Jackson, Noel, & Parrish.

Two of them are from Louisiana.
There was a time when that was unheard of.
LSU needs to tighten that up.
I guess those two didn't want to get rubbed on by that weird coach.

I'm curious as to whether Moss will enter the draft after this season. That would still leave us with Amari and Reuben, but Moss is the most complete back right now.

I hope he does. RB’s have a short shelf life and he has a kid. Go get paid.

We went and got 3 RBs out of the portal and 2 of them haven’t sniffed the field yet and the other is the RB coach’s favorite (followed him to Miami and back to Ole Miss). They are clearly playing favorites and only using Parish because the RB coach has had him at 3 different stops.

He’s also a better pass catcher than I was expecting.

Like Tank, Auburn’s offensive struggles have hurt his stock. He’s going to be a mid-round steal for some franchise.

Of that list, only Hunter is carrying the entire offense on his back. He gets my vote.

Orgeron strikes again. LSU wanted Moss but supposedly he wanted to go out of state. I don't believe Sampson even got an offer.

Nico threw a TD pass to Brazzell with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter against Bama. That was the first TD scored by anyone other than Sampson for 14 consecutive quarters. Nico threw a TD to Thornton in the 2nd quarter against Oklahoma...then no other UT player scored a TD for: the last 3 quarters against Oklahoma, all 4 quarters against Arkansas, all 4 quarters against Florida and the first 3 quarters against Alabama.

So, I would say that Sampson is pretty much carrying UT on his back as well.

He’s been a touchdown machine. Zero doubt about that. But, Hunter produced 300 all purpose yards to win Auburn their first SEC win. Those are video game numbers.

Jaquinden Jackson deserves a mention. He just can’t stay healthy.

Good point. I will say if you look at the entire season:

Sampson has accounted for 27% of Tennessee's total yards and 53% of their Touchdowns.

Hunter has accounted for 28% of Auburn's total yards and 22% of their Touchdowns.

They are both pretty close on % yardage contribution, but Sampson is far ahead on TD contribution. That being said, Hunter did pretty much beat Kentucky by himself.

Given the NIL/portal parity we’re seeing now, situational football is nearing NFL-level critical status. So, it’s smart by Heupel to feed Sampson in the red zone.

Both are dang good football players.
