He just turned up the physicality to match the energy of the game. LSU was playing bully ball early on..

Terrible call. He opened up the end zone with a great block. Scored on that drive anyway.

That call more than any other pisses me off. I don't know why that was considered a blindside block. (And if it wasn't considered blindside, it would not have been targeting, because the player would not be considered defenseless.)

We had 100 yards in penalties to their 35 yards.

Blindside hits should be encouraged not penalized.
Keep that head on a swivel. Real football is gone.

A WR coming from the slot to block a safety is a weird definition of blind side. The tv rules expert talking about it being a great call was a little shocking.

He didn’t need to try and earhole the guy. And then to stand over him after he about murdered him. I don’t care if it was targeting or not, he didn’t have to do that to be effective. And the ref had a front row seat for it. Just a stupid play.

Yep. It wasn’t blindside at all. Pretty much face to face. Defender had just turned when the hit occurred, but he was turned facing him.

Can’t exclude the physicality of the game, especially coming from LSU. It was a back and forth. Seems perfectly natural in that context.

The standing over him was a mistake…not necessary. But it was emotional.

It’s an accurate application of the rule. You can obviously quarrel with the rule and no one will disagree.

I mean, it was the right call.

Need to take away some of these pads so the players don't launch and stuff anymore. Make it hurt again.

They just flag big hits now and come up with what to call them later. Against Mississippi State Montrell Johnson blocked a guy who was looking right at him (and even braced for the impact) and refs called it blindside.

Effectively a weight room win wiped out the best touchdown run I've seen from Florida this season. They don't want football players hitting each other anymore.

First time I’ve seen a blindside block to someone’s front.

I think some of these bullshite calls were introduced so the refs could have an even bigger impact on the games. Targeting, especially, is broken. If you are an offensive player and lower your head to a defender what exactly are they supposed to do?
NIL isn't breaking college football. Officiating is doing that.

If they flagged Kyle Kinard for this block, Jahdae Walker should have been charged with murder....

It’s a bad call and I think had the WR ran off to make another block elsewhere rather than standing over the guy there wouldn’t have been a flag.

The floating of the big hit caught the eye of the red and he deduced a penalty.

I still think the block was sound- it’s a sealing block creating an open lane. It’s just very rare you see clean collisions that way by those players.

Tv rules experts are pointless. They just agree with the refs decisions 99% of the time, no matter how egregious.
