Why hasn’t there been a female yell leader yet

Even the Saintsations have unfortunately admitted men. Everyone else has coed cheerleading squads with both females and males (for any Ags who may be tuning in). I am actually looking for a serious answer to this question and then I will not troll A&M again until after the ballgame!

Yell Leaders are elected by the student body, not “admitted” — it’s not a club. Females have run for the position in the past, but failed to garner enough votes.
The bottom line job of a Yell Leader is volume — in general, males hold the advantage with this skill.

Yell Leaders are elected via campus-wide vote.
Typically the five guys (3 seniors, 2 juniors) going up for Yell Leader originate from a few outfits/squadrons within the Corps of Cadets and run as a single ticket (think of a combined Presidential-VP ticket, but with five guys).
During the election, the entire Corps of Cadets votes en masse for that single Corps ticket, thereby ensuring their guys almost always win the seats.
It’s unlikely a single candidate (e.g., a female) will pull a sizable bloc of votes the way the alliance of Corps candidates does.
Even non-Corps/civilian male candidates for Yell Leader struggle to receive enough votes to unseat any Corps members, as the cohesive Corps bloc vote is typically insurmountable to beat.
I have zero problem with this.
The Corps of Cadets is the traditional keepers of the spirit … the way it’s always been and should continue to be.

Would you lead the yells if you were elected?

If I was elected? Sure.
Would I ever run for the position? No.

Good lord, now I’m learning it’s all political to become a yell leader? men are hoarding A&M’s cheerleader spots from women politically?? shite is SO fricking weird. Ridiculous this is something any of you would still be proud of imo.

The tradition started when A&M was an all mens college and hasn’t changed. A&M has cheerleaders. And guess what? They’re all females. They just don’t attend the football games. The real irony here is that A&M doesn’t actually have male cheerleaders and the rest of the schools do.

Calm down, Kamala. Life really isn’t a giant conspiracy, I promise.
The yell leader preoccupation on this site is next level.

you have to be able to pitch and catch to make the squad.

So it's the same as Greek bullshite but with tight haircuts.

That’s a solid (and accurate) comparison.
