Texas A&M and LSU square off this Saturday night for sole possession of the SEC standings lead. The winner will then face a favorable remaining schedule, with A&M to face Texas and LSU to face Alabama. No SEC game is a gimme, but it’s as much as a team can ask for.

So what happens if Texas A&M wins? It’ll get worse for opposing fanbases. A lot worse. A&M is churning out 15,000 new Aggies each year. That doesn’t even count family members that may catch the disease. Think there’s already a lot of us? There’s even more fair weather fans waiting in the woodworks. They’ll join the board in a tsunami, ready to whoop all over every thread.

Even those of us who have reverently followed A&M football will likely get worse. Fans will start dressing up as yell leaders for the games. Your Aggie coworker may start greeting you with a loud HOWDY in the office hallway.

The Aggies are wearing all black in this game for a reason. Be worried. Be very worried. The wave of Aggydom is cresting.

No Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss. Texas A&M has the easiest schedule in the SEC.

AND LSU and Texas at home.

We're going to lose.

Not a jinx, a prediction. It sounds like we're either as good as or worse than LSU in all areas (their OLine is equal to our DLine, for example).

This kind of thing happened in 2020, Aggies were everywhere talking all kinds of shite.

Then it all went up in smoke.

I'd hope y'all would've learned a lesson but maybe not.

I’d trade having to play SCAR on the road at night with playing Vandy at home, but neither are gimmes.

The top 8 teams in the conference according to the polls right now are #2 Georgia, #5 Texas, #7 Tennessee, #8 LSU, #14 Texas A&M, #15 Alabama, #18 Ole Miss, and #21 Missouri.

A&M plays 3 of those 8 which is pretty average among the group (and the same number as LSU). Pretty much all of us in that top 8 have an easy road compared to Arkansas, Florida, Miss State, and Oklahoma who each play 6 of those 8 teams.

Similarly Tennessee, Texas, Ole Miss, and Mizzou fans should not be throwing very many stones about weak schedules right now, as they each play only 2 of the 8.

Our yell leaders are trapped there until we win another championship. Everyone would benefit somewhat.
