If Aggie Beats State, it could mean a lot. Depending on how it occurs.

It should signal something to worry about for those of you that play us.
Here’s why. The game in and of itself isn’t all that big of an indicator of where the team is. State could beat us or not. And either way it wouldn’t surprise me.
But what I am watching is how prepared A&M is to play. Traditionally the Aggies start becoming very unfocused this time of the season. See the roller coaster image. It usually starts right about now. We scrape by and barely win or lose a game right about now most years.
If A&M comes out and instead puts up 50 on state and shuts them down defensively and the win is convincing, that’s a big positive sign for Elko.
Not because he won, but because the culture of the team would have to be different for that to happen.
Anyway. This game is a big game for A&M. I am not sold yet on us. But we shall see.

Agree with this. A 2-0 to finish to October would be a big sign of improvement for A&M and they would enter November as a legit conference championship contender for the first time since the late 90s.
Can't go 2-0 without winning the first one and Miss State has shown fight as of late.

I agree. Y'all get right on that.

Yeah nobody is gonna worry about you.
The arse of every joke . Your biggest rival joined the conference and is currently sitting on top of it in their first year.

Before we get too carried away, wasn't Aggie on top of the SEC their first year?

If A&M puts 50 on State and shuts them down, you are right. That will definitely capture my attention.
Roller Coaster going up..

No but they did beat Bama one year in their first or second try. They just have 8-4 disease.

Yes. We went 11-2. But we dropped a game to MS State LSU if I recall correctly.
We had the same record you do now this point in the season.
Bama won the title after we beat them but shite the bed.

And conversely, if they do what I suggest, they aren’t on the roller coaster culture anymore. Thats my point.
But that’s absolutely what A&M has been the past 20 years.

Sounds like you’re just preparing for a loss. I doubt we win Saturday but if somehow we did, I wouldn’t consider it a big win.

Yes. I am. Not because of your team. But because of our culture. A&M is a country club team in a lot of ways. I can’t really say we have a culture that instills work ethic.
Coming off a bye week, yeah. I expect us to lose. I wouldn’t consider it a huge win if we win but it would give me great confidence in Elko and his ability to be a head coach that can change the country club culture of the locker room.
We usually lose about now. So if we come out after a bye week and are focused and dialed in, that is not an A&M that has been seen in 29 years.
I don’t think it happens. It takes longer than a a few months to change culture. And we needed it changed badly.

Their game vs Louisiana Tech was postponed so they actually opened the season losing to Will Muschamp at home in their first ever game as an SEC member. LSU then rolled into Kyle Field and smacked em around so while they did roll into Tuscaloosa and beat Alabama they still lost the SEC West 6-2 vs Alabama's 7-1.
Had they won either UF or LSU at home they would have gone to Atlanta and likely beat Georgia and gotten the right to stomp on Notre Dame in Miami
Instead they went to Arlington and pimp slapped the Sooners as a consolation prize

So no they were close to being on top of the SEC but not really since they started conf play at 2-2

There is no roller coaster culture. That was a play on high preseason rankings and fall in the meat of the schedule. Any ranking we have now was earned from the mud. But any success we have, the horns will keep posting it and claim it’s the meme. They posted it every win we have.
But then again, they aren’t very creative. Every troll is 15 years outdated, or like that meme 25 years ago.

You lost to Florida in the first game of the year.
You lost to LSU in the seventh game on 10/20.
After the LSU game, you were 5-2.
Y'all had a great team. If you had won either of those games, you would have played in Atlanta instead of Alabama.

Don’t spend all day over analyzing why you would always be scared if our team was your team. That’s no way to live my man.

This isn't a pissing match.. but I would like to clarify. The roller coaster (imo) doesn't really have anything to do with rankings.. it has to do with you guys getting your hopes up like clockwork.. and talking a big game.. only to be let down time and time again in October..
It's no different this year.. if you lose to State or LSU. If you don't, well then, maybe you will have turned the corner.
2006 was the last time you didn't lose in October 8-1 then finished 9-4
10/13/07 5-1 & Lost to Tech
10/04/08 2-2 & Lost to Pokes
10/03/09 3-0 & Lost to Arkansas
10/09/10 3-1 & Lost to Arkansas
10/29/11 5-2 & Lost to Missouri
10/20/12 5-1 & Lost to LSU
10/19/13 5-1 & Lost to Auburn
10/04/14 5-0 & Lost to Miss State
10/17/15 5-0 & Lost to Alabama
10/22/16 6-0 & Lost to Alabama
10/07/17 4-1 & Lost to Alabama
10/27/18 5-2 & Lost to Miss State
10/12/19 3-2 & Lost to Alabama
10/03/20 1-0 & Lost to Alabama
10/02/21 3-1 & Lost to Miss State
10/01/22 3-1 & Lost to Miss State
10/07/23 4-1 & Lost to Alabama
10/19/24 5-1 & Lose to Miss State ??
10/26/24 6-1 & Lose to LSU ??
I didn't know this, but you are 4-6 vs Miss State in your last 10 and 1-4 on the road.

So the roller coaster is if we are ever positive, a roller coaster gets posted by our rivals, that eventually the team will lose and egg on our face. Look man, I can easily put a horn logo on it and use it on you. But that’s childish and I’m telling you, time to make something more relevant that isn’t on paint.

Sneezy, I think you should concentrate more effort on changing anm's CULT culture. It would save the entire state a lot of embarrassment.
