this is one of the most tired, illogical, silliest talking points that for some reason people parrot over and over again.
SC
Clemson
Tennessee
AU
Bama
FSU
Florida
Are all within a short drive of the GA border. Hell, clemson is only like 30 minutes from Athens. You can get from downtown Atlanta to AU in less time than it takes to watch a movie. All of those are big boy schools and are right next to us, so why in the absolute hell does it matter that ga tech is the only other big program in the state?
Furthermore, metro Atlanta continues to be invaded at a staggering rate by outsiders. The days of youngsters being home grown and growing up idolizing the dawgs are dwindling. Nowadays millions upon millions of residnets aren't from GA and have no loyalty or allegiance to the state or to UGA. Which makes the overall point up top even less relevant.

Based on this fact alone I would call them the biggest underachievers in the history of college football.
you're kind of an idiot then, considering we are the 2nd best program in the history of the SEC. There is a laundry list of programs in talent rich states (UCLA, Cal, ga tech, Texas A&M, etc) that haven' accomplished a fraction of we have.

Ohio State with that B1G schedule is a rockin' chair job. Look out buckeyes, the season is almost half over, and here comes Iowa.
Dude this^. I cannot fathom a better job. You have NFL talent top to bottom on your roster each year. You recruit top 3 every single year.
And instead of playing Bama, LSU, Georgia’s of the world with NFL talent on their sidelines, you play fricking Iowa and Rutgers week and week out. It’s like fighting Stone Age Tribes with modern day artillery.

To add to your point, recruiting in the SEC is really national. I do think proximity to home for a recruit is a large advantage, but teams are reaching hundreds of miles to snatch players and they will listen if the NIL is good and the opportunity apparent.

Drinkable tap water.
Funny enough, Baton Rouge sits on the southern hills aquifer which is the second cleanest water in the country behind an aquifer in Colorado.

Hey look, another rankings thread. How interesting.

4. Alabama
“Has all (the positives) but sneaky hard (job) given expectations,” an AAC assistant coach said.
“Saban set the standard,” a Big Ten receivers coach said, “but Saban also set the standard.”
In other words, "I feel safe working here and only having maybe one or two difficult weeks of prep every year, because at the end of the day, I'm a huge pussy."
"But look at my all-time regular season record against Indiana and Temple!"

Funny coming from a Bama fig.

Nice but completely different. Baylor players were raping people. Miles and Orgeron were plowing females. Got ditched and the cried.

2 Texas-The potential is limitless. It’s the flagship university in a state that produces an abundance of talent with everything you could ask for in terms of NIL, facilities and staffing.
“It’s the absolutely unlimited resources that you have to do whatever you need,” said a Group of 5 offensive coordinator who voted Texas No. 1. “That is a place that has zero excuses (not) to win.”
Texas has a boatload of resources and an unmatched talent pool; however, they haven't won anything since 2005 and before last year had not competed meaningfully since 2009. Maybe it's no longer an issue, but my understanding was booster micromanagement has been the bane of any success at Texas.
Considering it's size, wealth, and the talent of a state that treats high school football like a religion, Texas' history should be much more impressive than it is.

Georgia has been sitting on a gold mine for years. It is one of the most talent-rich states in the country but, unlike Texas or Florida or California, they are the only major program in the state. Georgia Tech is a decent football school but you have to go back almost 35 years to find the last time they were truly relevant on a national scale. Based on this fact alone I would call them the biggest underachievers in the history of college football.
Yes and no.
Auburn is in a county that touches the GA line. So is FSU. They both have big followings in SW GA, and Auburn has a large presence in metro-ATL.

As of this weekend, Ohio State has played the 131st easiest schedule in the country.

BS .there have been years where UM,PSU, are every bit as good as top SEC teams...OSU has played Texas,Oregon, Oklahoma, LSU etc in regular season...Who the f does BAMA play pre -season usually? They played Texas finally and got beat ..BAMA has one of the weakest pre conf schedules annually yr i yr out ..BUT now we shall see..O$U has home and home with Texas..followed by gumps coming up to the Shoe in 3 ys ( Not frickin Wisconsin like they did this yr ,way to max out ... )...

No reasonable Texas fan would disagree with you.
I will say we have not always had administrators that valued success in athletics. So long as the donations continued to flow in and Texas could rub academic elbows with Stanford, people like President Bill Powers (RIP) were fine with .600 football. Ironically, Stanford blocked Texas from joining the Pac 10, so we weren't good enough for their country club despite the westward gaze our admin had.
Anyway, happy to be playing in the SEC.

The problem is we have integrity. Now that there are no rules, you see us coming back. Places like Oklahoma and Alabama needed the NCAA "rules" so that the academic schools would play nice while they cheated like dogs.

Fair enough. I still have Baylor friends that claim Briles got a raw deal. Dunno and can't comment in accurate fashion. It's true enough that universities will not and cannot tolerate any sort of sex scenanigans because of Title IX, etc.
