I just watched the presser. I have to say I liked the fact that he put this loss on the coaching. Hopefully, and I mean Hopefully, it has clicked not only with the coaching staff but the players. They MUST get everyone on the same page if they want to win any games going forward. Aside from maybe ULM the rest of the games are going to be a struggle. They have to keep the momentum with recruiting and the portal to give Auburn a fighting chance next year. I hope we land either juju or deuce. Definitely need a stud portal qb (Hopefully one familiar with rpo) a few olinemen and corners and I think this team may be really good.

We are top 15ish in team talent. That's above Ole Miss, Mizzou, SMU, Arky. It's not too far behind Tenn, USC, Michigan, USC, Miami.

FSU is probably the only one underperforming us more, but its honestly not by much. FSU beat Cal.

We are far enough into Freeze's tenure that you can't blame Harsin anymore.

Freeze is supposed to be an ace at QB development, and we have what we have.

The QB play has lost us all 3 games and QB development is on Freeze 100% now since he could have brought one in and chose not to.

This is my biggest gripe against Freeze. He was delusional thinking he could magically make a 5th year senior better.

Maybe we just aren’t an RPO team.
Requires QB, and WR to read defense.

Defense can show a look and change at snap.

I’d rather be a ball control team by sorting out how we can effectively run the ball and the clock. Use the passing game on play action on first or second down.

People can keep saying this until blue in the face. It just is not true.

ETA: Freeze's recruiting pitch in the middle of a season during a Monday presser makes me think he is feeling the walls fall in on him. He mentioned "recruiting" no less than 6 or 7 times.

I also believe the rumblings have begun. I know he has support from the donors and the AD but I think the fans are starting to get irritated which in turn makes the board and AD a little worried. I want him to turn it around. That begins with all the coaches doing the best job with what's on the roster right now

This a misleading statistic when trying to rank the roster as a whole. Overall, we may be top 20, but we are lacking in two critical areas that can make or break a team, QB and o-line.

How are we far enough into Freeze's tenure to not blame previous staffs? The last time we had a top 10 recruiting class was 2020 and damn near everyone from that class transferred out...

With that being said, I do agree that he had to opportunity to bring in a transfer last year and chose not to.

This team lost its entire senior class with the exception of Hunter, and Freeze had to supplement with non P4 players. I don’t know how anyone can say this team is where it needs to be talent and experience wise right now. Saturday, the main ones making plays besides KLS and Hunter were almost all freshmen or sophomores.

Not to mention: that "blue chip ratio" is skewed way towards our young players. Many who aren't even getting significant playing time. 2 of the "Freeze Four" aren't seeing even a third of the snaps of the other two. It took til game 5 to turn Riddick loose. Just a couple examples.

They have to. It's one thing to rebuild. In a rebuild, you see slow progression towards a goal. A vision is laid out, and you see the pieces fall together over time.

We're in position to go 3-9 this year. That's not hyperbole. Kentucky beat #6 and Vanderbilt isn't the cupcake like years past.

You have to question the potential future of the program if Hugh Freeze continues to field teams that are disastrous and seemingly getting worse. I (as a lowly fan) will of course grant him more time if recruiting finishes top 5. Hell, even top 10 if some key positions are filled in with quality talent. But if recruiting falls off and he loses control of the team, then maybe two years is enough if the money allows for it.

We aren’t a top 15 talent team, but are easily a top 25 talent team. More talented than everyone we’ve played but Oklahoma. Hugh’s on the field results since November of last year are only slightly better than 2012 level stuff

To be objective for a moment, we are better than we were last year except for one major issue, turnovers. I’m not saying don’t be critical of the coaches by any means, because results still ultimately fall on them, turnovers included. However, our offense has been solid all year and ranks high in most categories, except for points and turnovers, which are directly related.

The gamble on Thorne I lay at Hugh’s feet and it is going to cost us, but if we are looking at the rebuild, then I would say we are meeting your criteria of showing signs of improvement. Ultimately we have what, 20 lost turnovers in 5 games? You almost have to be trying to get those kind of numbers. We are still making a lot of mistakes and they need to be fixed, but if we are looking at things like a true rebuild, I see a team that is really close, but just keeps getting in their own way.

We have enough talent to not get doubled up in every stat category by New Mexico State and lose by three touchdowns at home. We have enough talent to beat a middling Cal team or an Arkansas team on the verge of firing their own coach on our own home field. We have enough talent to dominate an injured Oklahoma team in every stat category but apparently not enough for our senior QB to throw a stupid pass he was being baited to throw and watch it turn into a comeback victory... on our home field.

And, once again, Hugh Freeze cannot get through a press conference after a loss without blaming someone else.

In his post game remarks CHF paused when talking about the fans- go back and listen—said it was the hardest part of the job——the fans, or something like that. I liked he said the loss was coaching in the post game, but that pause was him carefully choosing words.

I mean, starting 2-3 anywhere in the SEC besides like vandy, in the easiest part of your schedule, will have any coach feeling like that, especially when the main issue is absurd amount of turnovers. That’s not anything unique to us.
