It’s deja vu all over again. 3 years ago with Bo Nix he was always running for his life and completely lost confidence in our offensive line. He became mindfvcked and couldn’t step up in the pocket because he was usually under pressure.
He transfers to Oregon and becomes a Heisman Finalist and 1st round draft pick behind a competent offensive line.
Three years later it’s the same thing with Peyton Thorne. No, he’s not as talented as Box Nix, but he is in the exact same scenario where the constant pressure behind an awful offensive line has him mindfvcked and there’s no remedy for that. Plug another QB in and it’ll be more of the same.
The people acting like it’s all on Thorne have extremely short memories.

How good was Cam's offensive line without Cam in there?
Posted on 9/8/24 at 4:21 pm to Stidham8
Yeah, it's the fans fault. They collectively threw 4 INTs yesterday. Silly fans.

Thorne has way more weapons than Nix had. Yesterday was the first time a barn QB had thrown four picks in a game since Brandon Cox almost 20 years ago.
Auburn won’t many many big game with Thorne, especially on the road.

Cam’s O-line was pretty good. It had 4 seniors on it.
Two players placed on the all SEC 1st team and another on the 2nd team.

my sympathies.
I think a lot of fans are ruled by their feelings. missouri, like auburn, has more than their fair share of idiot fans.
It's really kind of sad that so many people are just so empty inside that really the only thought they can process is
my team won = they're good i'm happy (repeat talking points from pundits)
my team lost = they're bad I'm mad/sad (repeat talking points from pundits)
The world would be better off without most of these NPCs

Auburn had a good to very good OL that were mostly upper classmen that had played together for several years when Cam came aboard.
They may not have been NFL size/talent but I'd bet all auburn fans would love to have that line over the OL they currently have.
but yeah....fuk em.

Blame Hugh Freeze for not having a better QB on the roster.

Offensive line is the issue and it takes 4-5 years to reconstruct with good high school talent.

If you say so.
I saw a good OL coach (Sam Pittman) completely turn around a bad OL from year 1 to year 2, and that was with two returning starters.

5 interceptions says it is not, not his fault.
This week, he was the worst qb ranked in the SEC, with the exception of Kentucky. I did not watch that game, but how bad must that guy have been.
I don't hate the guy. He is tough but at some point, it becomes clear he cannot be the guy. Maybe the coaches are not making it easier on him, the OL is weak, but that really doesn't change the fact he is not suited to to lead this team.
And some of those throws were not just poor mechanically, they were terrible judgement decisions.

Fans of the losing team always think the best player on the team is the backup QB. It’s been that way for 100 years and will be for another 100 years.

He doesn't know the most important position in football. And, his team's starting to lose faith in him for sticking with PT.

There is no way Cox was at the Barn almost 20 yrs ago. I refuse to believe that.
Should be an automatic ban for anyone that posts something that makes me feel even older than I already am.

No it doesn’t. But if it does, and the offensive line is the problem, Freeze is screwed. He won’t get four more years looking like they did yesterday. He will get two.
